Chapter 138 :Memories 3 (Bonus Chapter)

To get the answers, Hermione reluctantly agrees to enter into her mind palace and access the memories she got from Nick.

All this time, she wanted to do something similar but just couldn't. Her indecisiveness was stopping her.

She all this time wanted to believe that those memories were fake, even after she internally knew that they ain't. She delved deep into mind arts while both Nick and Orion were unconscious. So much so that she even went to the restricted section of the library to find anything which can help her. But all this to no avail.

Nick was right, there are many way to create fake memories but not fake feelings. Even something like love potions are nothing but temporary attraction and nothing more.

She at first just wanted to hear the truth from Nick's mouth but looking at him, it was clear that even if he say it, she might not believe it.

"Maybe that's why he was so reluctant to tell me before. He wanted me to see it for myself," Hermione thought as she close her eyes and got ready.

As she delved into her mind palace to explore the memories bestowed upon her by Nick, the first scene that unfolded before her was a moment etched in her childhood. She watched a mixture of confusion and wonder painting her young face, as an owl swooped down, delivering a letter bearing the Hogwarts crest.

She remember this happening, but there are many things which are different here. Like she remember the letter was something she personally pick up from the mail box 2 years ago. But here in the memories, her mother was the one who hand over the letter to her while she was having her lunch.

Small changes but they are definately there.

In the memory, her parents exchanged puzzled glances as Hermione eagerly tore open the letter, her eyes scanning the unfamiliar words with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. It was a moment that marked the beginning of her journey into the magical world, a journey that would shape her destiny in ways she could never have imagined.

As she relived that pivotal moment, Hermione felt a surge of nostalgia wash over her, but at the same time she was comparing this memories to what really happen 2 years ago when she got the letter. And there were many minor changes.

Hermione's memories unfurled like pages of a cherished book, each scene a chapter in her magical journey, she now was intrigued a little after seeing the difference between her own past and the memories, she wanted to know more. Learn what was that which made her act like that towards Nick.

The next memory was when she first visited the Diagon Alley and came alive in front of her, but just like the previous memory, this was slightly different.

She recalled the bustling streets, alive with the enchanting sights and sounds of the wizarding world. Hermione's eyes widened with wonder as she strolled alongside her parents, the cobblestone pathways leading them to the wondrous hidden enclave of magical shops.

The difference here was that her parents never came to the Diagon Alley with her, it was Professor McGonagall who took her to the Diagon Alley.

Entering the bustling marketplace of Diagon Alley, Hermione's heart swelled with anticipation. Everything was coming back to her. Like it happened just yesterday.

She marvelled at the towering spires of Gringotts, the majestic bank of the wizarding world, and eagerly followed her parents into Ollivanders, the wand shop that would soon select her perfect match.

She remembered that this was the first time when she met Orion. A little embarrassed looked appear on her face as she didn't even say high to the boy back then who later save her so many time and help her out.

But this time, that never happened.

With her trunk packed full of magical supplies and her heart brimming with excitement, Hermione boarded the Hogwarts Express, her anticipation mounting with every step.

The next memory which she saw was her onboarding on the Hogwarts Express. To got a little carried away after feeling nostalgic and didn't even realize that at the speed she was going. It will take her quite some time to analyse all the memories Nick gave her.

Amidst the chatter and laughter of her fellow students, Hermione sought out an empty compartment, eager to immerse herself in books but there was a boy already sitting there. This was Neville Longbottom.

Pulling out her textbooks, she delved into her studies, determined to excel in her first year at Hogwarts. But late the boy ended up losing his toad.

She ended up helping him of course.

And that was the time she found something really really different from her current world.

The place she was thinking of where she would meet Rose, Ron and Orion for the first time opened up as in the memories she entered. But there were only two people inside.

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley?

"Where is Rose... Where is Orion...

Why are they gone and not Ron... ?"

This was when she got a little confused and came back to her serious tone. "What in the world is going on...?
