Chapter 274 : Against Dragons 1

The excitement in the air was palpable as the first round of the Triwizard Tournament was about to begin. Students and teachers alike buzzed with anticipation, their conversations filled with speculation about the upcoming challenges. The Hogwarts grounds were adorned with banners and flags, representing the three competing schools: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang.

In a large tent set up near the arena, the champions gathered, each wearing their school's distinctive colors. Orion and Rose, both representing Hogwarts, stood together in their red uniforms. The fabric bore the crest of their house, a symbol of their unity and strength.

Orion right now was in a deep conversation with Rose.

"It's dragons, why you don't believe me? We have to fight dragons," he repeated himself with frustration, Rose didn't believe him when he said that they had to fight dragons.

"Yes yes sure, I am sure that we have to fight giants after that."

Rose rolled her eyes, and seemed completely distracted.

She was unusually quiet, her eyes cast downward as she nodded absently at Orion's words. He was too engrossed in his theories to notice her lack of enthusiasm.

Little did she know what he was saying was the truth.

"Sigh whatever, you will know soon." Orion shocked his head.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah, maybe," Rose replied, her voice lacking its usual spark.

Orion frowned, finally sensing that something was off. Before he could press her further, his attention was drawn to Morgan, to him Mogana Lafey lite by just the name alone, who had just entered the tent. She caught his eye and gave him a warm smile. Orion nodded back politely but quickly turned away, not wanting to engage in conversation.

The atmosphere in the tent grew tense as the minutes ticked by. The champions were all eager to learn what lay ahead. Finally, the murmur of voices outside the tent quieted, signalling the arrival of the task's announcement.

"Finally!" Orion sighed, he was bored waiting here for the round to start, it's been a while since he fought with a dragon.

But that was when he heard a voice. A voice that he knew. Making his eyes a little wide for a second.

He slowly got up, and walked up to the entrance of the tent, "What are you doing here, and what do you want from me, Granger?" Orion can't help but ask with a little irritation on his face.

Hermoine was just about to reply but just that when another sound came.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please?" the voice said. "The first task of the Triwizard Tournament will now be revealed." Dumbledore entered and said.

"Whatever it is, I right now don't have the time." Orion wasn't able to see Hermione as she was standing behind the curtain of the tent but he knew her voice very well.

He just moved on, not wasting time on Hermione but Hermione didn't seem to look like she was having it.

"Just one minute, Orion I promise I won't take that long." Hermione said but Orion didn't stop.

"If it's important then just come later, not right now." Then he returns to his place.

"Good morning, champions," Dumbledore greeted, his eyes twinkling with a mix of excitement and pride. "You have all been chosen to represent your schools in this prestigious event, and I have no doubt that you will do them proud. The first task, as you will soon discover, is designed to test your courage and resourcefulness."

Orion somehow stopped himself from yawning. What could the first task be? He knew before even they decided it, He glanced at Rose, who seemed slightly more alert now, her curiosity piqued by Dumbledore's words.

Dumbledore continued, "You all only have one goal, to get the golden egg. But it won't be that easy, because the one protecting those eggs was none other than a dragon"

As Dumbledore spoke, Orion had a smirk when Rose snapped her head at him with wide eyes. Acting like saying 'I to,d you so', but he did not say it, everyone watching after all.

"Prepare yourselves, champions," Dumbledore concluded. "Your first task awaits."

With that, he left the tent, leaving the champions to their thoughts. Orion turned to Rose.

"Dont say it," Rose narrow her eyes.

"Okay okay… but I told you…" A wide smile appear on his face, finally felling a little better after seeing Rose annoyed.

Rose just pouted, thought there was still a hint of worry in her eyes. "Do you thing that I can do this, Orion?"

Orion gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "We'll get through this together. Just remember, we've faced worse things before."

Rose nodded, knowing that there is no together this time but still she smiled . As they waited for their tasks to be revealed, Orion couldn't shake what Hermione wanted to talk to him, but he just shook his head and only focus on the task at hand right now.

And there was Morgan who caught his eyes and gave him another smile. This time, Orion forced a small smile back, trying to push aside his suspicion for the time being. There were more pressing matters at hand.

Finally, the time came. A wizard stepped into the tent, holding a bag and inside this bag was miniature versions of the dragons they were about to fight, he had the right to choose who will crush there bones and burn them alive.

"Whatever, just take one." Orion just sneer at this and thus he choose first and took oily the most dangerous one intentionally.

"Finally I get to test out my brand new wand."
