Locked inside!

Chen Mumu was cold. There was dust all over the place so she was constantly sneezing. Because her head was throbbing like crazy, she could do nothing but stare at the ceiling for a very long time. She could also not scream because her voice only came out in whimpers.

A sad smile escaped her lips. This was it, she thought. This was the end of her dreams. She needed this role to keep her dreams of being a superstar alive, but she knew that if the door was not opened soon, there was no way she would audition on time!

She knew that this was no accident and Feng Yuan was likely the one behind it. How was it that as soon as she asked where she was, the odd man appeared!

A silent tear escaped her eyes while she thought in her mind, "Feng Yuan, f**k your mother!"

Feng Yuan, who was outside, sneezed slightly. She met up with the man who was all smiles, "Madam, everything that you asked for is done."

Feng Yuan smiled in satisfaction. She took out an envelope full of money and handed it over with a grin, "Good job. Remember to open the door when the auditions are over!"

The man nodded and then disappeared from sight.

Feng Yuan had been paid by Chen Xu to ensure that Chen Mumu would not audition no matter what, and she did just that. With how strong the latches were, there was no way Chen Mumu was going to escape that place! There was also no escape route except for a small window which was so high up that there was no way Chen Mumu would climb up and leave.

Feng Yuan smirked, "Chen Mumu, don't blame me for this. This is the jungle and we are but animals trying to survive!"

She then took out her phone and texted Rui Li, "Plan B is done!"

When Rui Li received the message, he was in high spirits. He turned to Chen Xu, "Chen Mumu has been taken care of. Now, the role of Cai Ying will only belong to you!"

Chen Xu smiled beautifully, "Is that so?"

Rui Li nodded.

Chen Xu smirked, "That sister of mine truly wanted to go head-on with someone like me? How dare such a village bumpkin like her compete with me?"

Rui Li laughed as well, "She looks like she belongs in the village. After this, she will have no other choice but to go back where she belongs! Hahaha!"

They were very happy now that their plan had been successful. Chen Xu smiled, her head full of unspoken thoughts.

In her mind, she was thinking that this was the perfect repayment for what happened back at her engagement party where she was thoroughly humiliated by the other!

Chen Mumu, you really wished for this, and I am serving it to you on a hot platter! Chen Xu thought.

Back in the supply closet, a long time had already passed yet Chen Mumu's head was not getting any better. She tried to reach for her bag, which she could still see from where she was lying on the floor, and took out her phone. She was very lucky that the man did not take her phone away while dragging her here.

Her happiness was suddenly dimmed when she realized that this place did not have any signal. She stared at the screen, frustration building up as the 'No Service' message glared back at her.

Mumu's thoughts raced. There had to be a way out. She couldn't let them win. Not like this.

With what little strength she had left, she forced herself to sit up. She looked around the cramped space, her eyes settling on the high window. Desperation gave her a flicker of hope. If only she could find something to stand on, maybe she could reach it.

But the room was bare, filled only with dust and shadows. She cursed under her breath, feeling the weight of hopelessness press down on her.

Minutes turned into hours. Mumu's breaths were shallow, each one a struggle against the dust-filled air. She clung to consciousness, determined not to pass out. She couldn't afford to lose any more time.

She thought of her dreams, of the countless hours she'd spent preparing for this role. She thought of her mother, who had sacrificed so much to support her. She couldn't let her down.

Just as she was about to reach the window, she suddenly stumbled backwards and fell back to the floor!

This time, her whole body ached and it was hard to determine which part of her body was still intact.

Seeing that her efforts were met with failure, she slept down there and resigned to her fate!

There were more things for her yet to come, she told herself yet this was the only thing she wanted the most. At this point she was only wishing for a miracle.

Outside, Chen Xu and Rui Li had shown up already. Because Chen Xu liked entourages, she had three stylists and two make-up artists close to her. Plus Rui Li, there were seven people in total which was diabolical especially since this was just an audition!

The other actresses heard the commotion and turned around. Others had fear in their eyes when they saw Chen Xu while others simply took one look and turned around in disgust!

Chen Xu was known for using many underhanded techniques in the industry that made most of the people not to like her. She was known to trample on others and look down on them just so she could feel more superior!

Chen Xu did not really care about those gazes. She walked slowly and found her seat. The audition had already started which meant that most actresses were already done and had already left. Because her audition was later in the day, she had no reason to come early!

Out of all the seats, there was one which had Chen Mumu's name on it. Chen Xu stared at it and saw that there was no one on it and a small smile appeared on her lips!

Just that time, an assistant of the director walked out and called, "Chen Mumu, Chen Mumu please come over, you are next to audition!"
