A Waste of Time

The man cast his heavy gaze on Keagan as if reprimanding her in Elijah's stead. Then again, the needed person wasn't here, and the CEO was only a few steps behind him. He just pulled on his cufflink and walked off. "I'll be going now."

"I'll ask him to come when I see him later." Keagan offered a smile in return, but all were for formalities. She could feel how that VP was furious behind his smile. Well, a director went AWOL, and no one in his office could fill in whatever he needed to do and submit. Not even the secretary was competent enough to find out her boss's whereabouts.

"Don't mind him too much. Elijah's office just holds a very important position in the flow of work in the Finance department." Wren hummed as she walked to comb through Keagan's hair before using two hands to fix the crooked lapels on Gephardt's shirt. "I ordered frappes from the same place Elijah bought drinks for me before. I also bought more food. Let's eat first."
