Getting Past and Moving On

Just like that, Keagan started working on her computer again. Gephardt moved to lie down and watched her work until he completely fell asleep. He was not the type to sleep anymore, but he couldn't help but feel like a regular cat on that single bed in the studio. Keagan typed and clicked, and the rhythm had become a lullaby.

Feeling the hot sun on his skin, Gephardt woke up and found himself facing the open window. He hissed at the scorch without a sound, only to realize he slept the entire night in Keagan's room. Keagan was not even on the bed. He rolled to find the blonde lady, but he saw Keagan still working on the computer. It was as if she didn't feel the time move at all.

"Miss Allard, breakfast is about to be served. Master Gephardt, are you there?" Cherie's voice came after a couple of knocks. However, Keagan failed to hear her because she was wearing headphones.
