More Exposure, More Pain

When Keagan kept forgiving Elijah's behavior, Wren thought it was because the man remained respectful after all. She didn't realize that this man could also insult a superior if he wished. Perhaps all the rumors she heard from those who had worked with him were all real. This Elijah Jenkins was just an overachiever, and that was his pass to behave like a real pain in the ass.

Her eye twitched as she hissed under her breath. "Maybe I should record your words and send them to Crevan. His hand might just ache to turn you off like a battery-run toy."

Elijah stared at her before shrugging his shoulders. He just left the office with his boba tea. When he opened the door, his eyes landed on the blushing second secretary as she was caught gossiping. He then smiled back in Wren's direction, attracting her attention.

He said, "I'll see if I can join you for lunch, Winnie. I'm heading back."
