Dacian lifted the taller man higher, his flapping wings unbothered by the added weight. The pair even looked so huge for his body. The sleek black skin sizzled under the soft sun punching through the patches drawn by the shy crowns of the surrounding trees. However, his grin was still freezing and disdainful as he regarded the armed humans.

"Dacian…" Keagan gritted her teeth. The face of the man who dared to take her and kill her friends was in front of her again. He was even holding onto someone who just saved her. She couldn't help but aim her shotgun at him, even if she couldn't fire it. "Let him down! Let these people go!"

"No way… they're strong and full of vigor…" Dacian laughed, gesturing with his other hand. "They're perfect for what I need, don't you think? Also, things like this… do you think they are gathered like this out of coincidence?"
