A New Place

Two days later when William was working in his room, he was surprised because he hadn't seen Amanda lately. He had also tried to contact Amanda, but her number was not active.

"Where is she?" he wondered.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, he got up from his chair and opened the door. A woman stood in front of the door. William gave her a puzzled look and then let her in. On the ID card shown to William, it was written that she was Agent J61.

"Hello Agent W31, I'm Agent J61. Your new partner for missions from now on," she said.

"Wait... What, a new partner? What about Agent A29. She's my partner! You can't just suddenly become my partner."

"Maybe you haven't heard from the boss?" Agent J61 handed William a piece of paper.

The man took it and read it, it said that from then on he would be paired with Agent J61 because Agent A29 was transferred to another base.

The letter was one that James himself had written to cover Amanda's departure. If William questioned Amanda's departure, he could have hacked all the CCTV cameras and done everything to track Amanda's whereabouts.

Knowing that, inevitably William had to accept it. Although he felt disappointed that Amanda did not tell him this directly.

"Then please cooperate Agent W31. Your cooperation means a lot to me," said Agent J61 extending her hand.

"Yes... Please cooperate." William accepted J61's handshake.

At the same time, Amanda had just arrived at the island she would be staying on, after traveling by plane for almost 16 hours. It was a very distant and remote island, but it was still a fairly modern island.

The city where she was going to live was a big city. The houses around it are attached to each other. Even so, the house is still said to be suitable for habitation and has a spacious and beautiful building structure.

The scenery was also very natural, like a city that everyone dreamed of spending their old age or honeymoon in.

Amanda pulled her big suitcase through the city, looking for a place for her and her child to live. She had tried to find a home seller agent there, but they didn't use that service. They sell houses through newspapers or the radio.

After seeing a house she found interesting in a newspaper ad, Amanda took a taxi to the house.

"Are you new here, Miss?" the taxi driver asked.

"Yes, I am. This place is very beautiful, it's shady and quiet."

"Right, our town is very quiet and the people are friendly. I'm sure you'll be comfortable here. Your destination address is a great place to visit."

Hearing that, Amanda asked what was wrong with their destination. The driver just smiled and said Amanda would find out later.

After a 20-minute ride from the city center, Amanda arrived at her destination. It turned out that what the taxi driver meant was a beautiful place and looked crowded with children playing.

The streets were clean and lined with homeowners' plants, adding to the beauty of the neighborhood.

"Not far from here is a very beautiful beach. If you manage to get the house in the advertisement, you hit a big jackpot!"

"Ahahaha... I see. Thanks for the ride." Amanda got out of the taxi and looked for the address in the newspaper.

She, who was in her early pregnancy, felt a little tired. Especially after the long plane ride, making her head feel so dizzy.

"Hufft... I'm tired... Where is that house?" she muttered as she wiped the sweat from her forehead.

Having to carry a heavy bag and suitcase made Amanda's walking even harder. She almost fell down if a middle-aged woman didn't catch her arm.

"Oh my... Be carefull, girl. Are you okay? You look very pale. You must be exhausted," she said with concern.

"Yes, a little. Sorry for the trouble,"

"Not at all. You seem to be new here? Come on. Let's go to my house, you need to rest for a while..." the woman said.

Having no other choice and being very tired, Amanda followed the woman to her house. There, Amanda was helped to put her suitcase inside and then told her to sit on the sofa while the woman got her a drink.

Amanda felt so happy that there was a woman who was kind to her even though they had just met. The woman brought Amanda some iced tea and asked her what she wanted to do.

"I'm looking for a house to live in... I came from quite far away and this is my first time here." Amanda explained.

"Oh you're looking for a house?"

"Yes, this is the address. Do you know this address?" Amanda handed her a folded piece of newspaper that showed the address of the house for sale.

The woman laughed at the address. She said that if it was her house, Amanda had come to the right place. She had put the ad in the newspaper.

"Ehhh... You're the one who rented it out? Is that... This house?"

"No, but the house next to me. It's my old house. I rented it out because I needed the money. It's only $450 for one month's rent. There are already some furniture in it that are still good except for the bed," the woman explained.

Amanda, who knew this, was happy because she didn't have to go through the trouble of furnishing the house. The woman also invited Amanda to see the house, which was just to the right of her house.

It turned out that the inside was not much different from the woman's house. It was simple inside but that's what made Amanda like it. There were two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, a family room and a living room. All the facilities were complete, making Amanda very interested in renting the house at a fairly cheap price.

"Are you interested in renting my house? I see you are a good woman, I can entrust this house to you. Are you going to live here alone?"

"Yes... For now..." Amanda replied while touching her stomach.

Realizing that, the woman grasped Amanda's hand with a happy expression. "What is your name, child?"

"Amanda... Amanda Sanchess."

"I'm Camille. They used to call me Big Mama, but you can call me Camille."

"Amanda... It must be hard for you to do it alone. But don't worry, if you need anything you can come directly to my house. I'll be happy to help you." She continued.

Amanda felt so touched by Camille's words to her. She didn't expect the woman to be so kind. At first she was worried that she would get bad neighbors like where she used to live, but Camille was so kind to her.

"Thank you, Camille. I really appreciate it." Amanda said.

That day Amanda agreed to rent the house and Camille allowed it. She helped Amanda carry her things that she had left at Camille's house.

Camille even brought a plate of food for Amanda so she could fill her stomach. Amanda was very grateful and ate the food that tasted so good. Afterward, Amanda lay down on the sofa because she didn't have a bed yet.

Amanda looked up at the ceiling of her new living room. Now everything had changed, she was far away from the crowded city, far away from her dangerous job, no one knew who she was in the city.

"Now it's just you and me. We're going to start a new life from now on and until the day you are born, Mama will take care of you with all the soul i have."

"You don't have to worry about lack of love from a father. Mama will give you more love."
