As Tristan slowly opened his eyes, he noticed that he was lying on a luxurious, king-sized bed that was so soft and plush, that it almost felt like he was resting on a cloud. The room around him was completely enclosed with four walls that were painted a pristine white, creating a serene and calming atmosphere.
He couldn't help but notice the presence of multiple machines that were attached to his body. Taking a quick look around, he realized that he was confined within the walls of a hospital room.
Tristan extended his arms towards a button on the wall and pushed it with a hopeful expression on his face. After a brief moment, the door opened, revealing a doctor accompanied by a nurse and Tristan's teacher. As they entered the room, Tristan couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment. He had hoped that at least one member of his family would be with them, but it seemed that his hope had been in vain.
"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked in a calm voice.
He made a feeble attempt to shift his body before answering the doctor.
"A little bit numb but otherwise, I seem to be fine"
After concluding his medical examination, the doctor shared some valuable advice and handed over a few prescriptions to Tristan. Soon after, the doctor and the nurse left the room, leaving Tristan behind with his teacher who was waiting for him.
"What exactly happened? Do you know how many hours it took for us to find you?" Tristan's teacher looked at him with a mixture of anger and worry.
Tristan suddenly remembered a terrifying memory of the man in chains who caused this whole fiasco and agitatedly asked his teacher.
"Did you catch the man bound in chains who attacked me in the cave?!"
His teacher looked at him strangely before giving a reply.
"What cave? We found you naked and bloody in the middle of the forest. As for your question, we found no such man and based on your wounds, it was more likely that an animal attacked you instead of a man. Are you sure you were attacked by a man and not some animals?"
Tristan was completely caught off guard by the reaction he got from his teacher. The response he received was completely out of the blue and caught him off guard, leaving him feeling stunned and bewildered. It was a strange and unexpected turn of events that left him feeling both surprised and confused.
"But I was attacked by that man" Tristan spoke in hushed tones, his voice barely audible, as he pondered the events that had unfolded. He knew that his teacher had no motive to deceive him, which raised the question of what had occurred in the time between when he lost consciousness and when he regained it.
Tristan wanted to ask more questions but his teacher excused himself as he needed to attend his classes and only dropped in briefly to check on him.
After his teacher left, Tristan tried his best to remember what exactly happened right before he passed out.
'I can vaguely remember a floating blue panel and a strange voice before I lost consciousness. Maybe it was a system like in the novels.' Tristan thought jokingly.
"Should I say status window?"
Tristan's words were barely out of his mouth when a blue panel materialized before him, causing him to recoil in shock and nearly spring out of his hospital bed.
Tristan could barely believe his eyes as he scanned the words written in the hovering blue panel in front of him.
[Name - Tristan Kane]

"I have a Legacy?!?!" Tristan could not believe his eyes as he unconsciously tapped the words 'Beastial Nature'. Suddenly, the words changed as it showed the description of his bloodline ability.
[Beastial Nature]
[Rank - Mythical]
[Description - You have been bestowed with a portion of the lineage of a mighty and potent entity. The strength and might of the beasts dwell within your blood, but your delicate and vulnerable mind struggles to contain its immense power.]
Tristan was left perplexed by the description before him. He furrowed his brow as he grappled with the meaning of the words on the page. Frustrated, he clicked the close button and continued to read. But as he scanned the text in the blue panel, his eyes widened in shock.
'Wait, if I understood this correctly then it means that the [Beastial Nature] is of [Mythical] rank which I have only heard of in stories.'
Legacies are divided into six known categories. Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. It was common knowledge that the Nine Heroes each had awakened a [Mythical] rank Legacies which gave them the power to oppose the Varkans.
'I even have another Legacy aside from the [Beastial Nature] which should be of the same rank.'
Though not impossible, it was extremely rare for humans to acquire two Legacies. The Legacies are usually inherited from one's parents and it is not impossible to inherit the Legacies of both parents, however, the conditions are extremely hard to meet. Both parents must have at least a [Epic] rank Legacy and even then, the chances are extremely low as it was more likely for the Legacy to combine and form a whole new Legacy.
Moreover, Tristan was sure that he did not inherit the [Beastial Nature] from his parents as his father's Legacy is called [Endless Life] of the [Legendary] rank while his mother's Legacy is [Healing Touch] of the [Epic] rank.
'I should think about this later. For now, I should check my skills
Tristan then proceeded to open the [Skills] tab and read the description of his skill.
[Skills]
[Feral State - Level 1]
[Rank - Divine]
[Description - As a person who possesses the power of the beasts, you have the capability to transform into a Feral State, unleashing your inner animalistic nature and tapping into your primal instincts when your bloodlust reaches its peak. During the Feral State, Strength, Agility, Stamina, Endurance, and Sense stats are tripled. Depending on your Willpower, you may or may not lose your rationality during the Feral State]
As Tristan finished reading the description, he realized that the skill seemed to be a passive one that could only be triggered when the Bloodlust stat reached a certain percentage.
'This skill seemed to be a double-edged sword as I might lose my rationality when I trigger this skill. It looks like I need to increase my willpower as much as possible.'
Tristan understood most of the contents of the system except for the sense stat.
'What exactly is this sense stat supposed to be?' As Tristan contemplated on this, the blue panel suddenly flickered and a new set of words appeared on it.
