Rise Prongs is good at running. His life changes when he gets the letter to attend a national running training. What awaits him is more than racing- a dystopian whirlwind of events haunts him like death. His new friends Jackson, Nix, Lily, and Han must compete in the Deathathon with Rise in a journey of friendship on the tumultuous track of life.

Track to Deathathon

The lights of the city shine down on the ten teenagers who walk on the busy sidewalk. Rise walks behind Wilson and besides Jackson. Han stays at the back of the group, constantly looking back toward the luxury hotel, until it disappears behind a corner of taller buildings. The group of teenagers walked quickly from the back of the alley. Until they are three blocks away from the alley, do they catch their breath fully and begin to talk. They don’t want to be spotted by anyone from the hotel. Rise feels a swarm of butterflies and a racing heartbeat in his body from breaking the rules.
