Chapter 23: Crushing with Wealth, Turning the Tables

Beholding the ancient city, Chu Xiaotian felt the old and weathered aura wash over him, amidst the bustling crowd. Everyone entering and leaving the city was armed with swords, clearly skilled warriors. After all, most people coming to Yao Feng City were there to train in the Yao Feng Forest or to hunt demonic beasts. Only merchants would willingly come here for business.

After paying five taels of silver, Chu Xiaotian entered Yao Feng City, using the silver he had exchanged for system points. A hundred points for ten thousand taels - the system was indeed avaricious. But now, Chu Xiaotian was immensely wealthy.

Originally, Yao Feng City was just a small town near the Yao Feng Forest. However, as more and more warriors came to the forest over the years, and merchants seized the business opportunities, Yao Feng Town rapidly developed into one of the leading cities in the Northern Yan Kingdom.

"Let's eat first!" With pockets full, Chu Xiaotian felt like splurging. In his past life, "Chu Xiaotian" was just a beggar, struggling for food and drink. Now, he wanted to fulfill that past self's desires. He headed to the largest restaurant in Yao Feng City, "Tianhua Restaurant."

It was said that Tianhua Restaurant had a strong background, with the real owner being a member of the royal family. Thus, Tianhua Restaurants were found all over the Northern Yan Kingdom, and few dared to cause trouble within them. Those who did were usually students from martial institutes, as even the royal family wouldn't dare to say much. The royal family was powerful, but compared to the real martial institutes, they were somewhat lacking.

"Welcome, sir!" As soon as Chu Xiaotian entered Tianhua Restaurant, a waiter greeted him. Although Chu Xiaotian was dressed simply, his extraordinary demeanor was evident. Most people in Yao Feng City were warriors, and they dared not neglect anyone.

"Arrange the best room for me," Chu Xiaotian commanded, flaunting his wealth. "Sir, I'm sorry, but our private rooms are all full. Is a window seat okay?" the waiter replied respectfully. "Alright," Chu Xiaotian agreed, not wishing to make things difficult for the waiter.

Soon, under the waiter's guidance, Chu Xiaotian was seated at a table by the window. "Bring me all your best dishes. Money is no issue," he said generously, even tipping the waiter ten taels of silver.

"Here, sir, our best dishes and drinks," the waiter said, presenting an array of exquisite dishes and wines, each described in great detail. Satisfied, Chu Xiaotian rewarded him with another ten taels.

As Chu Xiaotian was enjoying his meal, a group of three people barged in, disturbing the peace. Two of the newcomers were richly dressed, and the third was a veiled woman of extraordinary bearing, though her face was obscured. "Didn't you say there were no seats? Isn't that a seat?" one of them pointed out.

"Brother, we would like to have some food. It seems you're almost done. We'll pay for what you've eaten and give you a hundred taels to leave," one of the young men said arrogantly.

Chu Xiaotian's temper flared at their bullying and use of money to pressure him. "I like to dine alone, and I have plenty of money, so I don't wish to leave," he replied coldly, not giving them face.

Their request denied, the two young men's expressions turned gloomy, and they glared coldly at Chu Xiaotian. "Bring another table for me," Chu Xiaotian ordered, ignoring them. The whole restaurant fell silent, with everyone, including the waiter, stunned. It was clear that the two young men were of no ordinary status, and Chu Xiaotian, despite his extraordinary aura, was simply dressed. Interfering with these young men could end badly for him.

"Do you wish to die?!" one of the young men in a blue robe spoke coldly, his murderous intent palpable.

Hearing this, Chu Xiaotian's eyes narrowed, a cold chill surging within them. He did not provoke or bully others, but if someone did so to him, he would repay it a hundredfold.

"Playing the fool, seeking death!" The blue-robed young man, used to arrogance and submission from others, lashed out with a slap towards Chu Xiaotian. Fast, accurate, and ruthless.

But Chu Xiaotian was faster, more precise, and more ruthless. He stood up quickly and returned the slap. A crisp sound echoed throughout the restaurant, followed by the sight of a figure flying backward, crashing into tables and chairs before falling to the ground, blood at the corner of his mouth.

"How dare you hit me?" The blue-robed young man was

shocked and furious, unable to believe what had just happened. The other young man in purple watched the scene with interest, choosing not to intervene, while the veiled woman remained calm, as if the whole situation didn't concern her.

"If you dare to bother me again, I won't just hit you, I'll kill you!" Chu Xiaotian's voice was cold and filled with a threatening edge. He had always detested those who used their wealth and status to oppress others.

The restaurant was in utter silence, everyone stunned by the turn of events. The young man in blue, still reeling from the unexpected retaliation, struggled to get up, his eyes filled with disbelief and rage. The other young man in purple finally stood up, a hint of appreciation in his eyes for Chu Xiaotian's boldness.
