Chapter 61: The Land of Wind and Clouds

Ouyang Kuang nodded in agreement.

"That place?"

Hearing Ouyang Kuang's words, Chu Xiaotian slightly furrowed his brows in confusion.

"The Wasteland Realm has a place called the Land of Wind and Clouds."

"There, all the warriors who come here gather, and it's home to powerful wild beasts. Killing any of the wild beasts there can yield at least two zhang of wild strength, but the beasts there are too strong, and there are too many human prodigies. It's extremely dangerous."

Ouyang Kuang explained to Chu Xiaotian.

"There's such a place?"

Chu Xiaotian asked curiously upon hearing Ouyang Kuang's explanation. After learning from Ouyang Kuang, Chu Xiaotian understood the world beyond the Bei Yan Kingdom. Ouyang Kuang and his companions came from a place called the Dong Xuan Domain, with numerous huge cities, powerful family forces, and of course, the most formidable were the lofty martial institutes.

"Are there disciples from the martial institutes?"

Chu Xiaotian inquired, looking at Ouyang Kuang.

"Yes, disciples from all the forces in the Dong Xuan Domain except the five top-tier powers are present."

Ouyang Kuang nodded solemnly. Although the Ouyang family was not weaker than the disciples of martial institutes outside the top-tier powers, they were outnumbered.

"The five top-tier forces?"

Chu Xiaotian asked with confusion, looking at Ouyang Kuang.

"The Dong Xuan Domain has countless family and martial institute forces."

"It's dominated by five overlords: the Dong Xuan Academy in the Eastern Region, the Ice Snow Palace in the Southern Region, the Great Thunder Temple in the Western Region, the Demon Institute in the Northern Region, and the Sword Gate in the Central Heaven Region."

Ouyang Kuang explained to Chu Xiaotian.

"I see."

Chu Xiaotian nodded.

"Brother Chu, shall we head to the Land of Wind and Clouds?"

Ouyang Kuang turned to look at Chu Xiaotian. Now that they recognized Chu Xiaotian's strength, staying with him seemed more complete and hopeful.

"Why not? We came here to enhance our wild strength. If we don't dare to venture into the most dangerous places, how can we talk about acquiring the Great Wasteland Strength?"

Chu Xiaotian said with a smile.

"Alright, let's set off."

Ouyang Kuang was slightly stunned by Chu Xiaotian's words, then smiled boldly and nodded in agreement.

The four of them quickly headed towards the Land of Wind and Clouds.

In the Wasteland Realm, the Land of Wind and Clouds was around a city.

The city was uninhabited, overrun by endless wild beasts that occupied it.

Humans were encamped outside the city, each setting up their tents.

The tents were spaced apart, and they bore three different colors: red, white

, and black.

"We're here, this is the place."

Suddenly, four figures arrived at the edge of the Wasteland Realm and saw the ancient and majestic city, its grandeur far surpassing the imperial city of the Bei Yan Kingdom. The city emitted a wild aura that even made Chu Xiaotian feel a sense of palpitation.

"That city is the birthplace of all wild beasts in the Wasteland Realm. They all come from there, but humans cannot enter."

Ouyang Kuang noticed Chu Xiaotian's gaze on the city and explained.

"Hmm."

Chu Xiaotian nodded and the four quickly headed towards the city.

"These tents are available for anyone to occupy as long as they are unoccupied. So, for the remaining time, we will be here, and each of us can choose a tent."

"The tents are marked with three colors: red means available for challenge, white means ceasefire, and black means death in battle."

"Only tents marked with black can be used by us."

"Tents marked with red mean anyone can challenge you, and you cannot refuse. The battle must be to the death, as only by killing the opponent can you gain their wild strength."

"Tents marked with white mean they have won fifty battles, and after that, they will not be challenged. Of course, they can challenge others."

Ouyang Kuang explained to Chu Xiaotian the significance of the different colors on the tents.

"Okay."

Hearing Ouyang Kuang's explanation, Chu Xiaotian had not anticipated such intricacies with the different colors. He realized how little he knew and felt like a frog in a well. Fortunately, he had met Ouyang Kuang and his companions, otherwise, it would have been extremely difficult to navigate this place.

"Let's go. We'll choose tents close to each other so we can look out for one another," Ouyang Kuang suggested.

"Hmm."

The four quickly headed towards the area with the tents.

Their arrival didn't attract much attention as people often came and left, and they weren't particularly famous figures.

"Yo, isn't this the great young master of the Ouyang family?"

Just as the four were choosing their tents, a mocking voice reached their ears.

"Mu Kui!"

Looking towards the source of the voice, Ouyang Kuang's expression turned grim, hinting at seriousness.

"Who is he?"

Noticing the change in Ouyang Kuang's expression, Chu Xiaotian inquired.

"He's Mu Kui, the prodigy of the Mu family. He challenged my brother before joining the martial institute but was defeated. Later, he was noticed by a powerful martial institute due to his talent and willpower."

Ouyang Xiaoya explained to Chu Xiaotian.

"Hmm."

Understanding the situation, Chu Xiaotian realized it was someone looking for trouble.

"Brother Mu, do you need our help?"

After Chu Xiaotian and the others chose their tents, which naturally turned from black to red, disciples from the same martial institute as Mu Kui, Tian Xuan Institute, looked at Mu Kui and asked.

"Yes, three of you will do," Mu Kui responded, seeing his fellow Tian Xuan Institute disciples approaching. Clearly, he intended not to let Chu Xiaotian and his group off easily, planning a four-on-four challenge to eliminate them.

It seemed

Mu Kui harbored deep resentment towards Ouyang Kuang!

"Tian Xuan Institute's Mu Kui challenges."

"Tian Xuan Institute's Shen Xingzhe challenges."

"Tian Xuan Institute's Dongfang Hong challenges."

"Tian Xuan Institute's Guo Qi challenges."

With a glance from Mu Kui, the four simultaneously issued a challenge to Chu Xiaotian and his companions.

"I'm sorry you all have to suffer because of this."

Ouyang Kuang, hearing Mu Kui's words, had an icy and fearsome look in his eyes and spoke apologetically to Chu Xiaotian and the others.

"We stand together."

Chu Xiaotian smiled indifferently.

Coming here was for challenges or slaying wild beasts; naturally, he wouldn't blame the others.

"Challenge accepted."

Chu Xiaotian and his group naturally agreed to the challenge, as refusal was not an option – such were the rules of this place.
