Chapter 265: Suppression

Three beams of light pierced the sky, hitting the three heads of the Vortex God, Osial.

Each of Osial's heads shook violently before letting out a furious screech.

Under the adepti's control, the "Guizhong Ballistas" had indeed caused damage to the god.

However, a single hit was not enough to make a significant impact.

On the other side, Ganyu had already finished charging her arrow, infused with dense Cryo energy.

Like an icy comet, it swiftly crossed the vast distance and struck Osial's central head while the god was still reeling from dizziness.

The Frostflake Arrow exploded like flour thrown into the air, releasing endless cold that enveloped the Vortex God.

His head and the sea beneath him were frozen in a massive area.

"Amazing! Did Ganyu just freeze even a god?" Paimon exclaimed in awe, floating beside Lumine, surprised by Ganyu's overwhelming strength.

Nolan turned his gaze toward the distant Vortex God, Osial, and saw that his level was 105—the highest level Nolan could currently observe with his Golden Eye of Judgment.

Not long ago, Fischl had just reached level 40, and combined with his own current level of 65, it totaled exactly 105.

Nolan wasn't sure where this level placed Osial among the gods, but he imagined that Osial's full power must have been even higher in the past.

After all, thousands of years ago, Osial was able to battle the Geo Archon.

Now, the god was likely weakened.

That being said, if Osial weren't in a weakened state and with the Geo Archon absent, their only option would be to evacuate the citizens of Liyue Harbor before Osial could reach them.

Even adding more adepti might not be enough to defeat Osial.

"I heard from my master that Ganyu once followed the Geo Archon to fight in many battles. She was so strong that even when swallowed by a fierce beast, she could use her physical strength alone to get stuck in its throat and easily subdue it."

Shenhe, with her long white hair, recounted one of Ganyu's legendary feats she had heard from Cloud Retainer, much to Paimon's amazement.

"Ah, Shenhe! What are you talking about?"

Ganyu's sensitive ears caught Shenhe's conversation, even from afar, and her pale face flushed with embarrassment.

Did Cloud Retainer really tell Shenhe these strange stories every time they discussed her?

"I'm not making things up. Master told me this herself,"

Shenhe replied, confused by Ganyu's reaction, shaking her head slightly as if to clarify further.

Seeing this, Lumine, who had already guessed what was going on between them, quickly grabbed Shenhe's arm and stopped her from continuing.

"Shenhe, let's talk about this later. Right now, we need to focus on the crisis in front of us."

Just as Lumine's words fell,

the ice around Osial began to crack.

Before long, Osial easily broke free from the icy prison, and all three heads let out a simultaneous roar toward the sky.

In an instant, the entire surface of the sea began to boil as if it had been heated.

One by one, elemental water creatures of various shapes were summoned by the Vortex God, Osial.

Some of them resembled sea serpents, others looked like fish-like monsters, some were shaped like crabs or frogs, but the majority took on the form of flying, bird-like monsters.

"Everyone, be careful! These are Hydro elemental creatures summoned by the Vortex God. Now it's our turn—don't let them interfere with the adepti!"

Keqing observed the countless water creatures rising from the sea and heading toward the Jade Chamber. She quickly commanded the Millelith to form ranks and prepare for battle.

"Yes, Yuheng Star!"

The Millelith soldiers stationed at the Jade Chamber, facing the oppressive aura of the ancient god, were all elite warriors.

Nolan's golden eyes scanned the scene, noticing that the average level of the Millelith was around 30.

Meanwhile, the approaching Hydro elemental creatures seemed to be of similar strength, or perhaps slightly weaker on average. Of course, there were some elite creatures among them, comparable to his own strength.

But sheer numbers were their advantage.

With the few Millelith soldiers present on the Jade Chamber, it would be difficult to stop the incoming horde of Hydro creatures.

"We should join the fight," Nolan said, glancing at Lumine and Shenhe.

"Agreed," they responded.

The primary force against the Vortex God, Osial, was the "Guizhong Ballistas," so it was crucial to protect them from destruction.

Lumine and Shenhe joined the effort to repel the incoming elemental creatures.

Nolan activated his "Lumine's Sword Intent," summoning phantom sword images, and then used "Spirit Descent" to control them. At the same time, he summoned a dozen translucent threads to join the battle.

He directed the golden sword phantoms, in the shape of Lumine, to target the stronger elite enemies that matched his own strength.

Meanwhile, the translucent threads, which were less powerful, focused on the weaker flying Hydro creatures that the Millelith couldn't easily reach.

As for the stronger enemies that his threads couldn't harm, Nolan had another solution:

he used his bow and arrows. Though his bow had been ineffective against "Childe," it was more than enough to handle these Hydro creatures, given his own strength as an equalizer.

Using sword intent, spiritual threads, and a bow simultaneously was a difficult, multitasking combat strategy. Nolan could barely manage it, and it caused his focus and reaction time to drop significantly.

Yet, even so, his efforts greatly relieved the pressure on the Millelith.

Thanks to everyone's combined efforts, not a single Hydro creature was able to approach the "Guizhong Ballistas," allowing the adepti to fully concentrate on charging them.

Soon, the three machines were once again fully charged.

Brilliant, blazing beams shot out, resembling powerful searchlights cutting through the dark, rainy sky. Once again, they were aimed straight at Osial's heads.

Osial let out another screech, opening its massive mouth to release elemental breath, which collided with the Guizhong Ballistas' beams.

"Boom!"

The collision caused a massive energy shockwave.

Even the Jade Chamber, located several kilometers away, was hit by the resulting blast.

Some of the Millelith soldiers were thrown off their feet, and just as they were about to be flung from the Jade Chamber, Nolan used his translucent threads to save them.

Ningguang observed the battle between the adepti and Osial. The fight appeared to be at a standstill.

Behind her, the sky rippled with spatial cracks, and large Geo-created gems began to emerge from them.

With a slight motion of her hand, Ningguang pressed forward.

Countless enormous gems, as if receiving their command, transformed into golden streams of light, tracing arcs through the rain-filled sky before bombarding Osial's body.

Perhaps it was Ningguang's attack that broke the deadlock between Osial and the adepti.

The elemental breath that Osial had been spewing suddenly weakened, and the Guizhong Ballistas' beams pushed through, ultimately striking Osial's head.

(Author's note: Some readers mentioned that Ganyu shouldn't be stronger than the adepti, and after thinking about it, I agree. So I adjusted the adepti's levels slightly—Cloud Retainer is now 96, and Mountain Shaper is 95. Everything else remains the same, and this should make it more reasonable.)
