KOL's POV

The dawn broke over the town, casting long shadows as the first rays of light touched the rooftops. The night's events were still fresh in my mind as I made my way to a secluded part of the woods where I knew she would be. Bonnie Bennett, the young witch with untapped potential, had no idea what lay ahead of her today. I had been watching her for some time, observing her raw talent and the power she held—power she had yet to fully understand.

As I approached the clearing, I saw her sitting cross-legged on the ground, surrounded by various herbs and candles. She was attempting a basic spell, her brows furrowed in concentration. The sight almost made me smile. She's trying so hard, I thought, but there was much she didn't know.

"Morning, Bonnie," I called out, stepping into view. She startled, looking up at me with a mix of surprise and suspicion.

"What do you want, Kol?" she asked, her voice guarded. She was right to be wary, given our past interactions.

"Relax, darling," I replied smoothly. "I'm not here to cause trouble. In fact, I'm here to help you."

"Help me?" Bonnie echoed, clearly skeptical. "Why would you want to help me?"

"Because," I said, walking closer and sitting down opposite her, "you have potential, but you're not using it properly. Magic is more than just herbs and candles, Bonnie. It's an art, a science, and most importantly, it's dangerous if you don't know what you're doing."

She narrowed her eyes. "And you're the expert, I suppose?"

I chuckled, nodding. "You could say that. I've been around long enough to know a thing or two. Today, I'm going to teach you about the different branches of magic and how to read a grimoire properly."

She seemed intrigued despite herself. "What's in it for you?"

"Let's just say I have a vested interest in making sure you don't blow yourself up," I replied, my tone light but with an edge of seriousness. "Besides, if you're going to be meddling with powerful forces, you might as well learn how to do it right."

Bonnie hesitated, then nodded. "Alright. Where do we start?"

I reached into my coat and pulled out a worn, leather-bound book—an old grimoire from a time long past. "First, we start with understanding this," I said, handing it to her. "Grimoires aren't just spellbooks. They're guides to the very nature of magic itself. Each one is unique, written by witches who've spent their lives mastering their craft. But they're also written in code, with layers of meaning that you need to decipher."

Bonnie took the book, flipping through its pages. "It's written in… Latin?"

"Mostly," I confirmed. "But it's not just about translating the words. You have to understand the context, the intention behind the spells. Magic is all about intention. The words, the ingredients, the rituals—they're all secondary to the will of the witch casting the spell."

She nodded slowly, absorbing my words. "So, what are these branches of magic you mentioned?"

"Ah, the branches," I said, leaning back slightly. "Magic is divided into several disciplines, each focusing on different aspects of the world. There's Elemental Magic, which deals with the forces of nature—fire, water, earth, and air. Then there's Spirit Magic, which taps into the energy of life and death, the balance between this world and the next."

I paused, watching her reaction before continuing. "There's also Blood Magic, which is… well, you can imagine. It's powerful, but it comes with a price. Dark Magic, on the other hand, involves manipulating the forces of the universe in ways that can have… undesirable consequences. And then there's Healing Magic, Protective Magic, and many others. Each branch requires a different approach, a different mindset."

Bonnie listened intently, her eyes wide with a mix of fascination and fear. "It's a lot to take in," she admitted.

"It is," I agreed. "But with practice, you'll get the hang of it. For now, let's focus on the basics. I'll show you how to read the grimoire, how to interpret the spells, and we'll go from there."

The day passed in a blur of lessons and practice. Bonnie was a quick learner, though she had much to understand about the depth and responsibility that came with her power. As the sun began to set, I could see the exhaustion in her eyes, but also a spark—a new sense of purpose.

"Thank you," she said quietly as we packed up the last of the materials.

"Don't thank me yet," I replied with a smirk. "We've only just begun. Tomorrow, we'll dive deeper into Elemental Magic. You'll need to be prepared."

She nodded, determination in her gaze. "I will be."

As I watched her leave, I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction. Teaching her was more fulfilling than I had anticipated. But there was also a growing concern. The power she was beginning to tap into was dangerous, and if she wasn't careful, it could consume her.

We'll just have to see how this plays out,
