Jeti Keto: Origin of the Hexoni

BASE 101, SECTOR 12, SOUTHERN REGION,

PLANET SIRIUS, HEXONIS SYSTEM.

About ten millennia ago, in the Hexonis System, there had been a long war for dominance by the seven races inhabiting the sole planet of Proximus. This interracial war lasted for decades amongst the races of the Promeri, Krokins, Werusans, Villeri, Crugi, Bardoni, and the Xentans. This war led to the advancement of the primitive Hexoni races and enhanced their capabilities as each race sought to outdo each other in the quest to become the prime power in the planet. Alliances and treaties were made and broken throughout the war, with each race vying for a perfect opportunity to seize absolute control.

The millennia-long war known as the 'War of the Seven', came to an end with the emergence of an alien species from another galaxial system in Proximus. This species was known as the 'Placosi'. They had long antennas, huge eyes by the sides of their heads, lacked noses and resembled bugs. The Placosi were far more advanced than the Hexoni, with superior machines , weapons and complex aircraft that soared the skies. The Hexoni were helpless with their sabers, spears and shields.

For a decade, the seven races sought to defeat the aliens on their own, but it was futile. The Bardoni race suffered the brunt of the invasion and were on the verge of extinction when a Promeri warlord, Maiseo, called for the unification of all the races to be able to defeat the Placosi. The Xentan and Bardoni houses and all their warlords were the first to join the alliance and afterwards, after much pleas and humiliating defeats to the invaders, the other four races joined the coalition and the Hexoni Coalition was created. The Hexoni were then able to stand their ground against the Placosi, unified. They were able to steal and study some technology from the Placosi and were able to replicate and modify it; The Xentans and Werusans became adept at producing and flying spacecrafts, the Promeri and Crugi developed firearms from the Placosi's arsenal and the Krokins were able to copy and enhance the communication channels used in warfare by the Placosi. In a few years, the Coalition were as advanced as the invaders themselves.

The war raged on for another two decades and despite their huge battle casualties, the Placosi didn't seem to be decreasing in number. With strong determination and huge resources, the Coalition were able to build the first ever Hexoni fleet of a thousand ships. This fleet embarked on an off-world battle with the Placosi Armada hovering around the planet's perimeter and destroyed two-thirds of the invaders' spaceships. This expedition enlightened the Hexoni races and brought a lot of things into light. They knew of the other uninhabited planets in their systems that supported life forms. They also discovered that the Placosi were the only species in their system which housed five planets with some few least advanced species ruled by the Placosi.

The Coalition staged an invasion of the Placosi system with its fleet but failed, despite inflicting heavy damages on the head planet of the Placosi. The Hexoni ships did not have the necessary fuel power to sustain them in the strange system and retreated. This, however, seemed to be the last straw for the invaders. Two moons later, the invaders withdrew their spaceships from Proximus, deciding it was too difficult to subdue. They went in search of other worlds to conquer and never attacked the Hexonis System again.

Hundreds of millions of lives were lost during the invasion, but it made a huge impact on the Hexoni. They became a wise and technologically advanced species, possessing a new found sense of curiosity towards newly discovered things and objects. They discovered elements and mineral resources, the main reason for the Placosi incursion, hidden in the planet's crust and used them to their benefit. The other planets in the system were also up for grabs as the Xentans explored and claimed three of the planets; Domeran, Sirius and Mimir. The Villeri occupied Cunoti, while the Krokins and Crugi claimed the planets of Komodon and Epixon respectively. The Bardoni race, vanquished to a population of mere thousands, remained in Proximus with the Promeri, who also controlled the planets of Darlan and Arragon. The Werusans, however, laid claims to no planets but instead asked for all the races to sign an agreement that allowed Werusans the permit to travel and even live on these planets without restrictions, to which all accepted. The claiming of planets brought about a brief argument on why the Promeri and Xentans were given liberty to control more than one planet. This was however waved aside because nobody had wanted the planets of Domeran and Darlan, being arid planets with harsh environs and climate. Being newly formed, the argument put a strain on the relationship between the races in the Coalition.

During the rebuilding era, more issues surfaced amongst the races and the Coalition was threatened. There were accusations of partiality in judgement, corruption and nepotism in sharing resources and elements. The Crugi race in particular violated many rules of the Coalition from mining for resources in regions allocated to other races, espionage on other planets and mobilization of troops without permission from the Coalition. They were sanctioned and suspended from the Coalition, but they still provoked the other races further by attacking a Xentan envoy. An ultimatum was given and then the other races blockaded and attacked Epixon.

Two years into the attacks, the Crugi space scouts discovered the Torumato system and an incognito research about the system and its planets began, kept secret from the other Hexoni races. There were four habitable planets in this system, the largest occupied by a primitive alien species called the Híkoo. Tall and hairy, the Híkoo rode flightless birds and fought with arrows filled with neurotoxins. They weren't diplomatic or hospitable creatures, attacking the scouts and warning them never to return. Taking the words of the scouts into consideration, and with a risky gamble of choices, two-thirds of the Crugi military were sent to capture the planet under the leadership of Dunesins Veredani and Murda, while a-third was left to defend Epixon against the Hexoni Coalition fighters.

Outmatched by the superior spaceships and firepower of the Crugi troops, the Híkoo surrendered and the Crugi had full control of the planet, marking the first dominance of any alien species by a Hexoni race.

Within a year of its off-world victory, the Crugi on Epixon migrated on space shuttles to the conquered system. The main planet, Resívís, was renamed after their previous planet, Epixon-2. The other two planets were named after the commanders of the conquest, Verdandi and Murda, and the last planet was also named after the then Crugi ruler, Garba. The Crugi houses were at liberty to live on any of the planets and the development of the Torumato System began. Soon, mega-cities were everywhere and the Crugi people flourished in their new home.
