Chapter 148: Advancement

In the heart of Hegrales Town, dawn had already cracked the sky wide open, but the bonfire at the town's core was still raging like a beast. 

The main drag was a horror show, strewn with twisted corpses – leftovers from the madness of the night before. 

The town had clammed up again, doors bolted, curtains drawn tight.

A handful of survivors were holed up, sneaking peeks through the slimmest gaps in their hideouts, eyes wide with unspeakable terror as they scoped out Elias and his crew.

Elias let out a low chuckle at the sight of those spooked, edgy faces. 

Just the night before, the trio had laid waste to the town, battling like they were straight out of a monster flick rather than the townsfolk being the actual monsters.

Isabella, with a flick of disdain, said, "All those tall tales had me expecting a nightmare. This is it?"
