Chapter 266: Secret Passage

After Elias vanished, Luna slammed Lanie's barely alive body onto the floor, leaving her nearly breathless from the brutal assault.

By then, Isabella was feeling somewhat better. Leaning against the wall and resting, she looked at Lanie, whose eyes were filled with despair, understanding why Elias had done what he did.

She shook her head with a smile, realizing she was being asked to end it herself.

When Elias burst out of the ancient castle, he found the vampire ancestor in a sorry state, hardly recognizable.

Not that it looked human to begin with, but after a mad frenzy of tearing by Nyarl's minion, the ancestor's spirit form grew dimmer. By the time Elias approached, it no longer made a sound or showed any reaction.

"Dead?" Elias prodded the spirit form tentatively. It remained motionless, just floating gently in the air, allowing him to manipulate it.
