Fifty-nine. N'p
Monalissa walked into his study with him and couldn't be more awed. She couldn't believe her eyes. The study was attached to his room but that didn't make it small in any way. It was the same size as his room.
"Master, your study is huge", she said.
"Mhmm", he said curtly. Monalissa pouted and walked obediently behind him. He settled himself into the couch, his head resting backwards. Monalissa was looking around the place and her eyes suddenly caught sight of a bracelet.
"Huh?", she said attracting his attention.
"What's that?", he asked grumpily.
Monalissa didn't reply and went forward to the place where the bracelet was. It was just in a jewelry box that was opened and set on top the table. Monalissa couldn't ignore it because it looked the same as her own. She looked at her wrist to check if hers was there and was surprised to see that it was still there.
"Master", she said when she got close to the table.
Ezekiel was also looking at her. He saw her going towards the table, her eyes fixed on that jewelry box that he had kept there for many years. Fourteen years ago. She should be twenty by now. His Lily.
Monalissa reached out her hands to take it and admire when that voice, commanding and domineering in nature halted her. She was startled.
"Don't you dare touch that!", he commanded.
"I'm sorry for trespassing. It just looked like mine", she said. The moment she said that, his gaze was drawn to her wrist and his forehead tightened in a frown.
"I'm sorry. But, it's surprising that master has the same bracelet as me", she said and went to her seat, as many thoughts crossed her mind. Maybe he likes her? Could that be a reason he bought it for himself? To remember her? She pinched herself to stop thinking the impossible. The devil would never like me. He never has. And never will.
Ezekiel walked to the couch and sat down again. His mind on a lot of things. One month was a lot. Camille and the others were being slow.
"Tell me, what about the code?"
"N'p?"
"Yes".
"It's the name on the letter sent by the client that day. N is an initial for Neon... And 'p' meaning, Pia".
Ezekiel froze. He wasn't concerned about Neon. Neon was his mortal enemy. But Pia? There's no other Pia he could think of except Madam Pia, his brother's wife. She plotted this too?
He shot Monalissa a death glare. "Walker, how true is this?"
"Master, I know that I'm your enemy but that doesn't mean I will decieve you. Though our base have been destroyed, I still got a hold of some datas that mother hid away".
Ezekiel raked his fingers through his hair, anger and hatred coursing through his veins. He was heated with anger. How could she...?
Monalissa noticed her master's countenance change and the temperature of the room reduce by some degrees.
"Master, do you know these people?"
"Yes".
Monalissa swallowed, trying to find the right words. "How much do you know them?", she asked
"Neon...is the leader of the soul-sucking org while Pia...is my brother's wife".
This time, it was Monalissa's turn to freeze. She didn't expect that to be the case. One was master's opposing force while the other was his sister-in-law. The betrayal was.... And she also contributed to it. She suddenly felt uncomfortable. She needed to leave this room as soon as possible.
"And you helped them Walker", Ezekiel said. Monalissa felt baked under his gaze. Immediately, she lowered her gaze. "It never occurred to me".
"Neon....", he mouthed as plots soared in his mind.
