Eighty. Monalissa?
Hi, Mr Don, he heard her say. That was the first time he heard her call his last name. He should have been happy to hear her call him that way, but he was far from being excited. The voice sounded so distant and like that of a stranger, as if they had never met before.
"Walker, you seem to have developed some little feathers and you dare to stand against me?", Ezekiel questioned, his voice, cold with fury. His hands were curled into fists.
"I'm glad you realized. It would have been a disaster if you got the whiff later than now...just so you know, I'm not your slave anymore. I joined forces with those who would fight with me against you", she said.
"That's a lie Walker. You won't dare to do that to me", he protested.
Monalissa glared at him. Why's he being like this? He's making things difficult for her! He should quit this! She was screaming at him in her mind. She was trying to be strong, but he was dealing with her mental health at that moment.
"But I just did", she said.
Ezekiel clenched his fists so hard that his bones crunched. He glared at her which earned him a smirk from her.
"Glare all you want Mr Don, since that's the only thing you would be doing from now on", Monalissa taunted. The moment she said that, Ezekiel was stumped. She used his words on him and he had to admit it, though it was painful....it hurts. It hurts so much.
Monalissa turned her heels to leave the place. Just when she had taken her first step to exit the place, she felt a strong hand get hold of her wrist and in that instant, she was pulled into his arms. Her soft forehead hit his sturdy chest causing her eyes to get watery.
"Let me go!", Monalissa warned, her voice shaky. Her throat was clogged with a lump, one that she was trying to conceal. She didn't want to cry.
Ezekiel held the small mass in his arms which were wrapped around her waist. He didn't care about the people around. He only cared about the woman in his arms.
"Walker, tell me this is a lie... this is just a plan you concocted to deal with Neon", he muttered, his face buried in her neck.
Alvin saw this and came forward to intervene, but Kim blocked him wielding his pistol out at that moment. This action of Kim's was followed by the other bodyguards guarding the Alpha gardens. Simultaneously, the bodyguards that came with Alvin and Monalissa also wielded their weapons. This was fire against fire.
"Mr Don...", Monalissa was about to say something but was interrupted by Ezekiel's reprimanding voice.
"Don't call me that. Please... Walker", Ezekiel said but the words came out like a pleading.
Tears fell from Monalissa's eyes. Her walls were finally broken and she sobbed. Clutching his shirt tightly, she cried hard.
"Master....",she sobbed. She drew some lines with her fingers on his chest catching the attention of Ezekiel. He looked down at her fingers and then at her.
"Walker...", he called his eyes widened.
Monalissa looked at him and smiled tearfully. "I have to do this master. I have to. That way, we can get back at him", she said in a voice loud enough for both of them to hear.
Ezekiel pulled back into a tight hug, his face buried in her neck. "Walker, don't do it. I will find a way for us", he muttered.
"No master. I already made up my mind. Let me. I know it's not enough, but I can make up for taking your only family away from you", she said. With more effort, she separated herself from his arms and stepped back.
"Expect what comes after this", she said and turned on her heels. And finally left.
As though all life had been drained from him, Ezekiel fell on his knees and sat on his heels. His fists clenched so hardly as tears gathered in his eyes.
Alvin smirked at him and went to open the car door for Monalissa while the other bodyguards boarded the second car.
Kim rushed to Ezekiel's side. "Boss", he called his eyes filled with concern. Madam Angela also rushed to his side, her heart aching. She didn't know what happened between them some minutes ago but she already hated Monalissa for causing her boss hear pain.
Ezekiel didn't react and only sat there, while watching as their car left the premises. Tears slipped from his eyes, rolling down his cheeks in torrents. He was pained.
Kim was shocked as he hadn't seen his Boss in such state. This made him raise Monalissa up to a whole new height. She was really the main factor!
"Boss, please let's go back to the study. You need to rest", Kim said.
"Yes Boss", Madam Angela added. "You need a rest".
Ezekiel clenched his fists and sucked in a deep breath. "Kim", he called
"Yes Boss?"
"Focus on finding out who Walker really is, and also bring that man to Realm tonight!", Ezekiel ordered.
Kim gave a start. Tonight?! Wasn't it in three days?! He yelled in his mind. But this was no time to slow. "Yes Boss!", he replied.
Ezekiel stood and walked upstairs without a word. Madam Angela and Kim bowed as he left.
It was almost afternoon at Cee country. Camille was in her room when her presence was requested. She was led to the gardens by the maid assigned to her. There, Hera sat on a seat with her legs crossed. She was holding a box in her hand her expression tense.
"Hera", Camille called.
Hera looked at her. "Yeah. Come here and sit", she said.
Camille looked at her and sat down on the stool that was next to her.
"What's up?", Camille asked.
Hera handed her the box. "Here", she said. "That's the box that my parents store their daughter's paintings. From where she was little till what she would look like now".
Camille furrowed her brows. "All thanks to AI. They must really love her", she said and began opening the box. From the point she was small, cute little girl.
"My parents told me she was really close to a particular boy, but he now stays Moon country. They lost contact after she went missing", Hers said.
Camille took out a picture. "This is the boy?", she asked.
"Yes. That's him. Cute one though", Hera said.
Camille went on to look at the pictures till she got to one that got her attention. She took it out and looked at it for a while. It had a striking resemblance to the woman who was held captive by Elijah.
"Monalissa?", she blurted.
