03: 5 Years, it is...

It was like a wild fire. Words spread out in ten fold speed.

Two headlines.

'The best actress in the industry has retired out of nowhere.'

'Top businessman in London, Skylar Wilson was in New York.'

News stations buzzing with alarming sounds of phone calls, it was truly a wild fire.

However, despite those luring headlines, what was even more wild was the content inside those headlines.

At her new film's promotion event last night, the currently best actress of the indistry who sweeped up the best actress award for 5 consecutive years, Vida Summerfield announced her retirement.

When reporters were about to question her for more details came the guy, the top businessman in London, Skylar Wilson. Not only did Mr.Wilson who was known for his playboy reputation and his rude and arrogant behaviour willingly lowered himself to act as Ms.Summerfield's bodyguard, he also gave out another piece of news while blocking reporters' ways. 'VD group of companies' will officially take over the management of 'Sunlit Fashions' for the time being.'

It was indeed a wild fire. Especially on Warren's side. Of course, as her ex-husband, he'll be questioned since Vida dropped out of acting as soon as their divorce. Receiving countless calls from reporters, the employees of 'Wn'M group of companies' were all exhausted out of their minds.

Sunlit Fashions and VD group of companies were no different either. There were even questions on whether Vida's divorce with Warren had something to do with Skylar.

All kinds of assumptions and questions...

However, none were acknowledged or answered. It was as if the personals who were getting questioned vanished from the face of the earth.

Two days later came the official announcement from the Entertainment company Vida was signed up with, about her retirement from acting.

A week later came a post on the official website of Sunlit Fashions, clearing the misunderstandings about Vida's relationship Skylar.

Two months later came the breaking news of Vida Summerfield officially taking over Sunlit Fashions which she let her uncle to manage for years only to get back stabbed.

Two months became four, four became six, eight... another news on Vida Summerfield never came out. Even on public events and press meets regarding Sunlit Fashions, Skylar was always the one who represented the company, acting as the face of the company.

As time flew by, Vida's name became less and less mentioned among public. She wasn't forgotten as she stole many hearts during her prime time in Entertainment industry, however, her name no longer rolled around people's mouth as often it used to be.

Occasionally, as a proof that she was still in New York, there would be pictures of her going around in streets in the Internet but, that's all.

It was all peaceful,

Until 5 years later...

"There's this woman I met in the airport yesterday." Skylar who came running to the neighbouring apartment for breakfast as soon as he woke up spoke giddily as he poked his spoon in the food, a rare sight of shyness flickered through his sapphire eyes. "I have to say, It's been an eternity since I met such a woman who made my heart buzz just with a few smiles~~"

"Seriously, you're 38 already and you're still going on and on about woman without a break?" Vida asked, her face displaying an 'I'm so done with this sh*t' expression.

Annoyed by her response although he totally expected it, "Just you wait until I successfully seduce this woman. You'll know if I'm old or not then!" Skylar said through his clenched teeth.

"Yeah, yeah, the old man is at it again~ This grandma here will give you her blessings!" Vida teased him more as the small smirk on her lips turned into a chuckle, she proceeded to add more oil in the fire, "I can't wait for that one day when you wake up and suddenly realise, 'Oh no! I'm an old man already.'"

As Vida bursted out laughing her ass off, enraged, Skylar took the glass of water on his side before pouring it all on the waffles, soaking her brunch wet. Making a face, imitating Vida's laugh in an exaggerated way, he was about runaway to get his rescue team. However, he pitifully got caught by Vida. "Clean it up!" Vida reprimanded as if he was a child.

So what if he couldn't reach to his rescue team, his rescue team was able to reach him after all. "Uncle Kyle! You're back?" A tiny toddler walked out of the bedroom. Caught sight of the big child Skylar, the little boy wrapped his arms around Skylar's legs, clinging onto his Sweatpants like a little kitten, "Let's go play outside!" The little one said with a cute smile.

"Dev,-" The mother was about to reprimand her little child too, however...

Skylar saw his chance.

Skylar took his chance.

Bolting out of the door with Devin in his arms.

"Kyle, he didn't have his breakfast yet!" Vida yelled behind before getting a reply, "I'll buy him something!"

As much as she didn't want her 4 year old toddler to eat outside, it's not like she can chase after them and knowing that Skylar wouldn't be careless, she just let them go. Those mischievous children... she thought as she proceeded to clean the mess Skylar made.

5 years, it is...

In those 5 years, Vida's life took drastic turns. After she announced her retirement, she worked hard to stabilise Sunlit Fashions business that got ruined by her uncle. And 10 months later, she welcomed her new born baby boy, her only family member. A year later, Skylar moved next to her as he proceeded to build up a branch of his business in New York. A son to adore, a brother to bicker with. It was some peaceful 5 years with her living her dream life of having her own family.

Although the winter was coming to an end soon, it was still cold out there. Skylar, as soon as he bolted out with Devin went to his apartment next door to get some warm clothes for Devin.

After buying Devin the cake he wanted, he strolled around while carrying the little guy. "Uncle Kyle..." finished his cake, Devin wiped his mouth on Skylar's shoulder as if it was natural as he talked, "Who's my dad?"

Ever since he started talking, although he became a bit talkative under Skylar's influence, never once did Devin mention the word Dad. Startled out of his wits, Skylar forced himself remain calm with a gentle smile, "Why is my li'l devil suddenly curious about that?" He asked.

"I heard a lot of my friends talking about having fun with their dads during the vacation. Why doesn't Dev has a dad?" Devin pouted as he clutched his hands on Skylar's sweatshirt.

Okay, he's adorable... but, what am I gonna say right now?! One wrong answer and I'll be f*cking facing my death on Vivi's hands, wouldn't I? Why didn't he ask his mom?!! Come on! World!!! You're being unfair!!! Skylar screamed inwards.

After racking his brain until it turned to dust, a bulb lighted in Skylar's head. "It's because my li'l Dev is a very capable boy that he doesn't need a dad." Skylar couldn't bring his hand to wipe the cold sweat on his forehead as his brain malfunctioned due to overheat.

"No~~" Skylar's heart beat accelerated to an inhumane speed as the little devil in his arms summoned his whinny tone, "Dev wants a dad~~" His whinny tone starting to take a turn to wailing,

"Dev, don't be stubborn~ So what if you don't have a dad, you have your Uncle Kyle here." Skylar said as he felt buzz in his sweatpant pocket. Putting Devin down for a second, Skylar quickly answered the call from Vida while holding Devin's hand.

However, before he could speak into the phone, a devastated little guy shook off Skylar's hands as he plopped back on the ground, wailing, "Dev wants a dad~~~"

"Dev?! What are you doing?! Your clothes are gonna get wet sitting on the ground like that! Your mom won't like it if you were to catch a cold! Come on, bud! Let's go home, mm?"

Dev wailed even more heart-wrenchingly, "What's going on?!" Vida asked panicked from the other side of the phone. Quickly explaining the situation to Vida as he tried to make Devin to stop crying, Skylar was thoroughly exhausted when Vida finally managed to reach them.

"Seriously, why's he asking for his dad all of a sudden?!" Skylar asked bewildered in a hoarse voice as soon as he saw Vida.

To his surprise, "It's not all of a sudden." Was the answer he received from Vida.

After being out of the country for a month for a business trip, Skylar only returned yesterday, of course he wouldn't know what was going on.

When Devin returned from playing with children from the neighvourhood a month ago, he suddenly askedfor his dad and from then on his tantrums were getting more and more out of control. Vida who had to deal with this same wailing every single day for a whole month has exhausted her will power to calm Devin down.

Unlike the tantrums Devin threw before, it was in the middle of the road now. Both Skylar and Vida being public figures, they'll get photographed for tomorrow's headline of they were to be seen with a child in the middle of the road. When that happens, the effort Vida put to hide Devin from the public attention for the past 4 years would be in vain. Analysing the dire situation they were in, Vida quickly went to Devin to console him, putting in her full effort into it.

But, the little boy was no longer having it. Those sweet words she said fell in deaf years as Devin wailed without a break asking for his dad.

Done with putting on a street show, Vida resorted to her final tactic that always proved to be working on Devin. "Alright, cry all you want here and walk back home on your own." She said calmly before dragging Skylar away from there, walking home.

As they walked and walked further away leaving the wailing little one, the wailing reduced to weeping and then it reduced to sniffling. Soon came the sound of a hurried uneven little steps running after them.

It was a really effective method indeed.

"Do they have a child together?!"

"The boy looks about 3 or 4 years old. Doesn't this mean they had this child not long after her birth?!"

"Right? I thought so too!!!"

"Then, did they get divorced because she cheated on Warren?!"

"And she blamed Warren for the divorce?! What a b*tch!!"

"May be the child is a relative, not their own child.."

"I think he's Mr. Bellinor's son!"

All kinds comments filled the Internet as soon as a picture of Vida and Skykar consoling a crying child on the streets was released.

Although Vida and Skylar quickly tried to take the photo down from the Internet with their influence, it was still too late as the news had already spread far and wide. What Vida feared still came crashing on her door.

Warren was in his office busily going over a collaboration project file, a phone call interrupted him. Not willing to tear his gaze away from the file, he quickly answered the call.

"Mr. Bellinor. This is reporter Kevin from BB news. Is it your child with Ms.Summerfield on the photo?"

It was a normal question asked in a calm tone however, it sounded extremely bizarre for some like Warren who's still unaware of the situation.

"What?!"

That reporter, not minding Warren's question continued, "If it's not your child then did you divorce Ms.Summerfield 5 years ago because she cheated on you with Mr.Wilson?"

The heck?!! What the f*ck is this guy talking about?!! Warren disconnected the call on an impulse as he burst out of his office, looking for his PA for an explanation.
