Upheaval

"Please forgive my earlier rudeness. I did not expect someone registered under such a name to be able to fight like that."

"Yeah, well..."

The man walking towards me had the cheers from the arena at his back.

In the previous fight, that man had crushed his opponent in less than a minute, despite showing no aggression at the start.

The cheers that could be heard were praise, admiration and expectation for the man, with some exceptions.

It was a completely dominant victory. The man should have been elated as the winner.

Was it composure? Delight? Or was he already looking ahead to his next fight?

No, it was something else. Some invisible strength or spirit seemed to be missing from the man, leaving a hollow look in his eyes.

"First of all, congratulations on advancing past the first round. Kyle my angel, I love you so much! ...You don't seem too energetic. Are you tired?"

"Well, yeah."
