She just wanted him

Yes.

The answer came resounding in Daisy's mind almost immediately.

"He has a good personality. It's natural to want to have him around."

Diana sneered inwardly.

Good personality. Ryle Harper. What do these two things have to do with each other in any way?

But she knew that she would not get a straightforward answer out of her stubborn sister anyway so she did not push it and instead continued talking, "Does it happen that when he is troubled by something, you are troubled too?"

Yes.

Daisy paused, thinking of the times whenever he talked about his family, his mother, his sister and his family.

Her brows tugged together, forming a small frown, "I care for him as a friend."

Diana scoffed disdainfully, seeing herself in Daisy for once. Just how long had she denied the sign and believed that Maxim Warner was just her childhood friend, the friend she wanted to continue 'friending' with?! Tsk tsk.
