Sorry, I came here unannounced again."
"Again?"
Marietta looked at Alpha Reed with confusion at why he said 'Again' when he had never been to her house except now.
"Oh, sorry. I forgot you lost your memories and didn't remember anything until a year ago."
"It's not a problem Alpha. Please come inside." Marietta said and unlocked the doorknob, inviting the Alpha into her home.
Marietta was glad she had arranged her home earlier that morning because if Alpha Reed had come a day before or yesterday, she would have wished the earth would open up and swallow her whole.
"Would you like a cup of coffee, tea, beer, juice, or water?" Marietta asked walking towards the kitchen.
"Don't you think that I'm too old to drink coffee, beer, and juice?" Alpha Reed asked with a smile.
Marietta felt stupid immediately he replied to her question and the thought of hiding in the kitchen for a while, pretending as if she was making tea ran past her mind in a flash.
"So, tea it is?"
"Tea, it is." Alpha Reed repeated her words to her.
Ten minutes later, Marietta was sitting in front of Alpha Reed with two cups of tea and a plate of cookies.
"I'm sure you didn't just drop by to say hello or congratulate me on successfully finishing my academics. I heard you took care of my educational expenses and for that, I'd like to say thank you and I'm most grateful for all the support you provided for me all my life."
Marietta said with a very serious face, expressing her gratitude to Alpha Reed.
"Wow, you took me off guard there," Reed said with a surprised smile on his face. "Well, I'm glad you did well in your studies and didn't let my money go to waste," Reed said and started laughing.
"So, to what may I owe the pleasure of this unexpected visit?"
Marietta asked, going straight to the point after letting the tension between them die down a bit.
"Ah, I was having such a good time that I almost forgot why I came here, silly me," Reed said laughing at how forgetful he was.
Marietta relaxed and smiled. Since Alpha Reed arrived at her place, she was tense and felt like very serious news was about to be said.
"I have a serious discussion to talk about with you today, that's why I came."
Her instinct was right, something bad or good was going to happen to her and she tensed up again.
"What may that be by Alpha Reed?"
Marietta could feel the sweat building up on her back, anxiety building up inside of her. She carefully waited for him to continue.
" The pack is not safe for you and sadly, I can no longer protect you from the dangers of this pack, so I have no other choice but to send you to the human world where you will rebuild your life and mingle with them.
****
It's been three months since Marietta arrived in the human world. "There isn't much difference between the supernatural world and the human world. The only difference is that humans don't have powers or are as strong as those in the supernatural world."
Marietta sat in front of the huge television, watching 'Pretty Little Liars' with a bowl filled with popcorn and a cup of soda, she wore a blue hoodie and black sweatpants.
The house was not that big, but was bigger than her house in the pack, the house was filled with the latest modern technology equipment, and the house was clean nicely, except for the living room which was filled with nylons of different snacks and popcorn.
"My life right now is boring. I wish Sylvie were here right now."
Sylvie would nag about how boring Marietta is and look for every means necessary to cause trouble or go to a nightclub and get drunk.
With a sigh, Marietta stared at the TV and mumbled something to herself, " I wish my life had some action in it. I no longer have my wolf, no powers or anything. It's like I'm fully human now."
Marietta's phone rang and it was Sylvie who was calling.
" Hey sleeping beauty, how are ya, do you miss me and wish this beautiful troublemaker was with you? I miss you if you don't miss me. I can't believe how heartless you are, I can't believe you don't miss your troublesome and dramatic best friend."
Marietta laughed her lungs out and was rolling on the floor. "you didn't let me speak you drama queen, I miss you a lot and wish you were here. My life has no action and I'm bored as hell."
"Okay, they get a life"
" What do you mean?"
"I mean, get a job, develop a hobby or hobbies, go out on dates, go to a club, get drunk, make mistakes, you know those types of things."
"Honestly, I don't think I can do most of the things you say, but I can try to get a job and hobbies or something."
"Yeah, try new things and find out the things you love and enjoy doing."
"You know what, you're right; I've been stuck indoors for over three months now and was too lazy to go out and try new things, but that ends today, I'll go out and look for a job or hobbies."
"Now that's the spirit, you go girl. Now don't forget to call me and tell me all about it, okay?"
"I won't," Mariette said with a smile.
"Promise?"
"I promise. Now why did you call me? I'm sure you have something to tell me because you can't just call me just to tell me you miss me and be dramatic on the phone."
"Okay, okay, you got me. I do have something to tell you."

Marietta looked at her reflection in the mirror for a while, she was wearing a white baggy sweatshirt, cream colored high skirt that showed some of her laps, and white leather buckle/ strap booths. Aside from the necklace Sylvie gave her the day she left the pack and small earrings, that was all I've jewelry she had on. She let her bangs cover part of her eyes and let her hair down.
Satisfied with what she saw in the mirror, she nodded her head in approval, took her black backpack that was lying on the bed, and left the house.
Mariette walked through the busy road of Star City, admiring the views of coffee shops, shopping malls, stores, etc. After walking for about an hour, Marietta stopped in a nearby coffee shop ordered an iced Americano, and sat by the window.
Sitting some distance away from her was a guy who was staring at her, he had bright blue eyes, orange hair, a Greek nose shape, and small lips, and was not too muscular. He was wearing a black shirt black ripped jeans and black and white stickers. He had been following her since an hour ago when she was enjoying the view of shops and malls.
Marietta's ice Americano arrived, she thanked the waitress with a smile joyfully sipped her coffee, and continued enjoying the beautiful view of Star City.
The strange man who had been following her stood up from his chair with his iced coffee and his smartphone made himself spill his coffee on her by pretending to be on his phone and tripped himself when he got closer to her. He spilled his coffee on her legs.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't see where I was going, I'm so silly. Here, let me clean it for you."
"No, it's okay. Everyone is clumsy once in a while. It's not that I'm calling you clumsy or anything…" Marietta said In one breath and looked like she said something stupid.
Laughing, "It's okay, I was the one being clumsy." The strange guy said standing up, "I'm Harley by the way." he said while reaching out his hand for a shake.
"Marietta, nice to meet you," she said, taking his hand.
"Nice to meet you too. You have a very lovely name, it suits you." Harley said with an angelic smile. "It seems you came here alone, mind if I sit with you, I came here alone too?"
Mariette kept staring at him dumbfounded and kept repeating his name in her head.
"Marietta, Marietta?"
Mariette immediately jiggled her head, snapping herself out of her daydream. "Yes, I came here alone and you can sit."
"Okay, cool. I'll be right back, I want to go get a refill." Harley said with a smile and walked away.
Marietta kept cursing at herself and felt like the ground should open up and swallow her. She turned to steal a peek at Harley but he turned his head to look at her and smiled. Marietta immediately took a sip of her coffee and glanced out the window with her face all red, pretending to look at the moving cars and people who were going about their days.
