Chapter 22 : I love you

Marietta was about to go on a rampage when she saw Laufey's pack retreating. Harley Marietta and the rest were confused at what was happening, they looked at each other and then looked at the pack that was retreating.

The Montgomery pack members came together, "What's going on, why are they retreating?" Marietta asked no one in particular.

"I don't know," Lexy answered.

Harley looked at Lolla and the rest for a while and thought, "Something's not right, they look just as confused as we are."

" Is anyone feeling that?" Miranda asked, looking at everyone and they looked back at her with a blank expression.

"Like something bad and dangerous is around." Marietta and Ann said in unison. 

"Yeah…we need to get out of here."

"Yeah, I think so too," Harley said and they started to leave in a hurry. They got into their car and zoomed off.

At the pack house

Thalia watched as the Montgomery Alpha and his pack members left in a hurry as if sensing something. She smiled at the fact that she was gaining power and once she had total control of these newly found powers, Marietta and her so-called friends would suffer at her hand and she would wipe them all out like she did to the Halls pack.

Silas watched his mother in silence, observing her every move and trying to see if he could read her mind but failed miserably.

Thalia turned to look at him, the evil smile still visible on her face. "I want to be alone for a while, so you can leave."

Silas obediently stood up, left her room, and didn't stop until he got to his room and fell on the bed.

"Mother was scary before and now, she's even more terrifying. I need to find out more about that red liquid, but who can I ask for help? This is so annoying!" Silas yelled out in annoyance.

The Montgomery pack members drive back to the pack

"Okay, that was a bit scary," Zack said.

"You gotta be kidding me, a bit? Dude I was scared to the bones, I thought we were going to die there!" Liam yelled at Zack. "I almost died!"

"Calm down dude, it wasn't only you," Lexy said.

"What the hell happened? After Thalia left, Silas followed, twenty minutes later, the pack members retreated and this dangerous ora was all over the place. We have to be more careful about Laufey's pack, I have a feeling Thalia did something because she seemed pretty determined to end Marietta and whoever was in her way.

"Is it too early to say Thalia is obsessed with you?"

"And is it too early to say Lolla is obsessed with you?"

"Oh come on Marietta, that's not fair," Lexy said, pouting her lips forward and crossing her arms together.

Marietta didn't say anything again and everyone laughed, except Harley and Miranda who looked lost in their thoughts.

Marietta looked at Harley and stopped laughing. She placed her left hand on his, causing him to look at her," It's gonna be okay, we'll figure this out together."

"What the hell happened? You guys look like shit." June asked as soon as she saw Harley, Zack, and the rest.

"Yep, it was close to hell," Miranda said, sitting down on the couch in the living room.

"Oh shit, could anyone tell me what happened, in detail?"

"Why don't I just show you, Ann, please show her."

"Yeah sure," Ann answered, going to sit beside Miranda.

"Wait, you guys can do that?" June, Lexy and Liam asked together.

"Yeah, why?" Ann replied.

"I just didn't…you know what, never mind, and go on with it," June said.

Ann cast a spell and above them was something like a cinema, it showed them everything that happened. They all watched it and were a bit surprised at how strong and fast each of them was.

" Wow, that was a bit intense," June said, resting on the wall.

Harley went upstairs and Marietta saw him leave and followed him.

Inside Harley's room.

Harley paced back and forth in his room, not knowing what to do or think. Marietta entered and saw him looking uneasy, his hair rough and his eyes swollen as if he had been crying, but he only just left the rest downstairs less than five minutes ago.

"Harley, as you okay?"

"I don't know, I just feel uneasy since the Laufey pack retreated, I feel like something bad is going to happen to you and them and I might not be able to stop it from happening. I can't, I don't know what to do." Harley said, in one breath.

Marietta shut the door behind her and walked over to where Harley was, "Suh, it's okay, just take deep breaths, look at me, look at me." Marietta said and used both her hands to clip Harley's face. "Follow what I'm about to do," Marietta said and started taking deep breaths.

Harley looked at her for a while before copying what she was doing.

"That's good, feel your body relaxing, feel your mind relaxing," Marietta said, Harley's face still in her hands.

After a while of taking deep breaths, Harley calmed down and thanked Marietta.

"Now, never forget that we're a family and we're in this together, me you, Zack, Liam, Lexy, June, Mir…well I'm not too sure about Miranda and Ann, but what I've seen so far is good. So we're in this together, all of us, including the pack members."

"I thank the Moon Goddess for giving me a mate like you, it's a shame Silas didn't know your worth," Harley said, looking into Marietta's eyes. "I love you," Harley said and kissed her.

Marietta blushed through and after the kiss for a while, be for replying. " I love you too.

"Hmm, hate to bother the both of you, but I think there's something you guys need to see, like right now," Zack said through the pack's mind link.
