They could not establish that much to begin with.

They absolutely could not.

First was the problem of proving she was the Keybearer.

She'd hoped that it was simply plainly obvious just by looking at her that she had to be someone from another world, ergo the Keybearer, but...apparently that was simply wishful thinking. Of course it was.

Adrien anticipated this objection, at least, and brought the blue stone he'd used to confirm she was the Keybearer in the first place. It shone bright in response to her magic, and did so every time she touched it.

Unfortunately, while that was enough for some of them at the table, the representative from the kingdom of Medar was apparently instructed to act like a doubter as if his life depended upon it.

Perhaps it actually did.
