His answer gave Caeli a bad premonition. "What do you mean by that? Isn't she happy?"
"Happy... Well, I don't really know but does doing your best for the most important person in your life make you happy?"
"Of course," Caeli answered without thinking.
Malacai chuckled, "I see, like daughter like mother, I guess. Then, you can say she is happy.
After all, she turned many people's lives into hell, then died miserably in the end, all for you."
He then paused and mumbled, "It's so ironic. If both of you had just been honest with each other...
Well, it won't pay for your treatment, though."
"Pay for my treatment... ironic..." Caeli repeated Malacai's murmur.
The words reverberated in her mind; she looked deeply into Malacai's dark eyes.
Somehow, she knew that Malacai was someone who could really kill a person.
Then, the possibility of it all being real hit her.
