Finally, after hours of venting, Elly stopped. Now, both of them were sitting on the ground, Elly laying her head on his shoulder, silently watching the fire burn.
Her lips parted open, and a somber voice came out from her tongue, "How can I repay you now, my brother? How can I hope for you to forgive me?
In the past, you gave me everything at the cost of your future, but now what?
If I just know better…"
Her voice trailed off. She took a deep breath and then continued, "My uselessness cost you your life; what can I do now, Brother? If only there is a cure for death."
Hearing her sad words, Victor's heart clenched. He then realized he had never thought about it like that.
If there is really a way to revive someone from death, will he choose to revive his family? Knowing they will just bring more pain to his life and others?
Victor doesn't have the answer.
