The both of them remained silent for about a minute. While Raymond contemplated on what to do, Rachael's face beamed in excited anticipation. She really wanted him to go with them.
Though he was a total stranger, she knew he was a good person. Nothing beats her gut feeling.
"So, will you?" She asked, taping the ends of her fingers together.
"Little girl, I don't think that's appropriate." Raymond said. "Your mother might feel uncomfortable with me since I am a stranger. And she loves you." He gently stroked her hair. "She will definitely not want to put you in harm's way by letting a stranger accompany you two out on your fun day. So I'm sorry."
"It's alright." Rachael said, looking a little disappointed. "But, if my mummy agrees, will you do it?"
