Fifty-six

I watched from the stands as Lydia and Remy walked slowly towards the arena. They were my friends, my classmates, my teammates. And they were about to fight each other, for real.

I felt a knot in my stomach, and a lump in my throat. This fight was so unfaire making fight two people from the same school, the headmaster was so mean a bitch.

The headmaster had made it clear that only one of them could advance to the next stage. The other one would be eliminated.

But at what cost?

They reached the center of the arena, where two swords were waiting for them. Remy picked up the big sword, which suited his muscular frame. Lydia picked up the small sword, which matched her slender figure. They looked at each other, trying to smile, but their eyes betrayed their fear and sadness.

They were going to fight and I was eager to see who was going to win, it's been so much time since I saw Remy even if it's against Lydia it could be interesting.
