Jealousy

The next morning arrived with the shrill ring of my alarm piercing through the veil of sleep. Groaning, I reached out to silence it, my hand fumbling for the snooze button. But as my eyes adjusted to the dim light filtering in through the curtains, I noticed something odd—Lydia and Lila were nowhere to be seen.

Frowning in confusion, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and pushed myself upright. It was unusual for them to miss our morning training session, especially after yesterday's rigorous workout. But before I could dwell on their absence, the familiar routine of the day ahead beckoned me.

I headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower, the warm water cascading over me like a soothing balm. Thoughts of the previous night's events lingered in the back of my mind, but I pushed them aside, focusing instead on the task at hand.
