At first, she answered everything short and concisely, in a quiet tone. But after seeing that I had a genuine interest in her hobby, or at least was trying to understand it, she started to speak more eagerly, losing her usual shyness.
She started to speak like anyone normally would about their hobby, and actually leaned in towards the conversation, which made it feel like she wasn't speaking reluctantly anymore.
As time went on and we conversed more about her hobby, she lost the shy look on her face, and looked as if she had found someone who understood her and her interest, and spoke even more passionately about what she liked.
She even started asking questions of her own, and got up from her chair to show me around her room, and explain every piece of merchandise she had and why she liked each one.
Her expressions turned more vivid, the more she spoke, and she openly started to express what she was feeling, without holding back.
Like when I said I didn't like a particular thing that she liked, she looked at me with a look of disapproval, as if she were looking down on me for my opinion.
Or, how she was jumping up and down in excitement, when I said something that she could relate to.
At a certain point, I totally forgot that she used to be a shy girl with social anxiety, and talked to her like I would to any other girl.
And through our conversation, I learned so much more about her, than I thought I ever would.
Apparently, she wasn't one of those so-called furries, and only had an interest in half-human, half-hybrid girls, called demi-girls.
She said that when she was a child, she used to watch a cartoon where they featured a group of demi-girls that fought off villains and saved the world. She loved that show to bits, and from that show she picked up a morbid interest in demi-girls, as she found them extremely cute and adorable.
From then on, she started to consume all sorts of media, that had themes related to demi-girls; be it games, movies, novels, books, comics, etc.
Her interest in her hobby went to the extent, that if there were any demi-girls in any sort of media, then there's no chance she wouldn't have seen it, no matter what language it was in or what form it came in, even if it was literal porn.
The merchandise in her room was also the result of years of accumulation of her most favourite models and artwork, to represent her interest.
And the game I saw her playing, was basically a dating simulator with a male protagonist and a bunch of demi-girls. She said that she had a particular interest in visual novels and dating simulators, since she felt like she could interact with the characters herself, by choosing the prompts.
She was even shameless enough to admit that, she enjoyed the 18+ scenes, as it allowed her to see the lewd expressions, the girls had on their faces when they were doing the deed, which she found cute for some odd reason.
We spent hours talking about her hobby and even dwelved into her social anxiety, which I learnt that she had developed from a young age.
I learned so much about her in that one night, then in the three months I spent in this house.
Who would've thought that this is all came to be, because I walked in at the wrong time, and wanted to cover it by appeasing my sister's interest.
I even ended up having a genuine interest in demi-girls, after hearing her talk about it so much. When someone speaks with so much passion about a certain topic, you can't help but take an interest in it.
And with what I did in the past, it only made sense that I took an interest in demi-girls, due to their 'exotic' nature.
By the time we stopped our first late-night talk, it was already past midnight, and we were both exhausted from talking with each other for hours.
As I left her room, after telling her to go to sleep since there was school tomorrow, like a responsible big brother would, I wondered if my sister would act the same way she did today and open up to me. Or, if she would think of this as some sort of weird one-night stand, and forget everything and treat me the same way she did before.
But I didn't have to wonder about it for too long, because when I was about to leave the room, she called out to me and asked if she could find me, if she ever wanted to talk to me again.
She looked very vulnerable at that moment, as if she were putting out her heart in front of me, and was scared of getting rejected.
I simply smiled and said that she just had to call out my name, and I would be by her side at any given moment.
After that day, she stopped avoiding me like she usually did, and greeted me every time we met in the house.
Instead of taking her meals to her room like she usually did, she started to eat at the dining table with the rest of us, and even initiated small talk with me about her interests, which my parents couldn't understand.
But my parents were simply overjoyed that their children finally started to open up to one another, and didn't care about what we talked about, and simply listened to our lively conversation like it was music.
Most of the time, I would go to her room to have a chat about the most recent discoveries she found in her search for media with demi-girls. And sometimes, she would even take the initiative to come to my room to play the games she liked.
She usually hated leaving the house and preferred staying at home, as she was scared of the outside world. But after persuading her to spend some time with me outside, she got used to it after a few trips out, and would follow me whenever I said I was going to some fun place.
She was like a puppy that followed me around; which was absolutely adorable in my eyes.
After more than a year since I barged in that day, we created an inseparable relationship between us in which we spent most of our time together.
If she wanted to talk, she'd come to my room; if she wanted to go out, she'd ask me to take her. And, if she had any worry that she couldn't even tell our parents, she'd confine in me, her big brother.
She even started to idolise me, and said she wanted to become more like me, after seeing how easily I mingled with people and made friends no matter where I went.
She even said that her goal was to become as confident and charismatic as her big brother, and get over her social anxiety, which made me cry out loud, and get comforted by her in the end.
As for me...Well...Let's just say, I wouldn't hesitate to turn the entire world into a desolate graveyard if I needed to, just for her sake.
