CHAPTER 493 - Warning! In-Transit Nuclear Fusion Strike Detected!

Bel'Veth loomed in the sky, and under the blinding purple light, it appeared as though a merciless deity from beyond the heavens, ready to deliver divine retribution to this "guilty" world.

Manta rays and devilfish swarmed the sky, descending like a furious storm of fine rain. Not only that, various monstrous creatures, amalgamated from multiple lifeforms or distorted beyond recognition, flew out from the Void City, crashing heavily to the ground. Explosions from electromagnetic coil cannons, matter projection cannons, and quantum bombs echoed non-stop, their fierce firepower and energy blasts creating a backdrop of chaos. The firepower here far surpassed the once mighty Unstoppable Monolith, which had been created by the ancient Nezuk, requiring the combined strength of the Ascended Warriors and thousands of elite mages to operate.

However, even with this overwhelming power, the battle, though not as grand and brutal as the previous Icathian Void Wars, had already seen significant losses on the mech army due to the Void Empress' immense power.

The battlecast's Zac, a liquid metal entity with self-healing capabilities, suffered minimal damage. The elite mechs, like Nasus, although few in number, had transformed into "Divine Beings" and had remained unharmed so far. As for the others, like Urgot and Kog'Maw, despite some damage, their superior performance meant fewer losses compared to the purely melee-capable Skarner. Kog'Maw, designed for long-range artillery, had no reason to be on the battlefield, so it had not sustained any damage.

Unfortunately, the unmanned drones following the floating mothership, while boasting immense firepower, had little defense and suffered the most damage. The same went for the mechanical storm units designed for mid- to short-range combat. The struggle between the mechs, the Yellow Sand Legion, and the Void creatures had slowly reached a temporary deadlock, soon to be pushed back. Had it not been for Zoe constantly casting Arcanic Meteors, putting pressure on Bel'Veth, the mech losses and the speed of their retreat would have been far worse.

Aatrox and Rhaast tried once more to charge into the faint purple sea of the Void, intending to distract Bel'Veth, who was floating in the Void City, controlling the entire battlefield. Unfortunately, despite their immense power, they couldn't even get close to Bel'Veth due to the constant barrage from millions of Void Spirits, which made it impossible for the two gods to reach their target.

Meanwhile, the long-range attackers, Varus and Azir, had no choice but to redirect their firepower to fend off the endless Void creatures. These creatures weren't just targeting Li Lin, but also sought to invade the outside world. If they made contact with living beings, the Void Empress would gain enough energy to empower herself, making her even more difficult to deal with than she already was.

Even Nasus and Valeeva were using astral magic to repel the Void's encroachment from the faint purple sea, but their efforts were insignificant compared to the vast power of the entire Void City. Countless Void Spirits poured into the northwestern region of Shurima, where massive desert worms, almost as large as the Dragon God, emerged from the fractured earth. Along with other enormous aberrant creatures like Skallashi, giant horned desert elephants, and deep-sea creatures resembling sea monsters, they surged from the earth and sea vortices. Each blow from these monstrous beasts could obliterate dozens of mechs.

Upon witnessing this, the AI quickly adjusted the battle strategy. Originally transforming into giant war machines to execute bombing missions in the sky, the Colossus transformed again into humanoid form with steel wings, wielding a massive photon sword, landing on the battlefield to relieve the pressure on Nethers. Most of the Kog'Maw mechs and War Lords also redirected their fire towards the outer regions of the faint purple sea, aiming to slow the advance of the Void, ensuring it didn't spread any faster.

Xerath, who had been "brewing" his ultimate attack, hoping to replicate Nerimazeth's Arcane Thundercloud Lightning, was reluctantly forced into combat. His arcane pulses, orbs, and meteors suppressed a large group of Void creatures.

"My hunger is endless, insatiable, and cannot be defied!" The Void Empress' wings beat, and corrupted seawater along the continent's coast spiraled upwards into a tornado, piercing through the purple haze of the Void's twilight before transforming into rain-like droplets. These droplets had the hardness of alloys and were infused with Void energy, falling relentlessly upon the battlefield. The primary targets were Kai'Sa, Kassadin, and Caitlyn on the edge of the battlefield.

Li Lin took a deep breath and immediately mobilized all space battleships, drones, and storm robots. Led by the two Dragon Gods, they formed an energy shield that covered the entire sky. Meanwhile, he teleported beneath the Dragon Gods and, with a sudden depletion of mana within his body, activated the "Battlefield Domination" skill. This skill placed all mechanical creations within a 4,000-meter radius around him into "Extreme Overload" mode, greatly enhancing all their attributes.

The purple seawater smashed against the energy shield, emitting crackling sounds as it quickly drained the energy from all the mechanical creations. Li Lin fired from his battle armor, then summoned a Dragon Zero to his cockpit. As the mechs synchronized with him, his thoughts raced, and he issued several commands to the AI.

[Dragon God Mech – Dragon Core Main Cannon: Gamma Ray Charging...]

[Orbital Gigaton-level Cannon Ready, Space-based Material Projector Satellite: Starfall Charging...]

[Orbital Gamma Ray Laser Ready, Space-based Laser Satellite: Divine Might Firing!]

[Dragon God Main Cannon Fully Charged, Firing Gamma Ray!]

[Target: Void Empress and Void City.]

As if summoned by divine wrath, the massive satellite laser shot down, and simultaneously, the two Dragon Gods fired their hundred-meter-wide main cannons, striking the shimmering Void Shield surrounding the Void City. The scorching beams of light burned through countless Void Spirits, leaving giant craters at least hundreds of meters deep where they had passed. This was still a result of the Gamma Ray's high altitude, which reduced the impact distance.

The molten land from earlier, where the Dragon Gods had "breathed" their fiery attacks, had long been filled with Void Spirits' corpses and irretrievable machine parts corrupted by the Void. It was impossible to gauge how deep it had become.

Yet Bel'Veth remained calm, its tentacles and wings moving slowly and leisurely, revealing no sign of panic. As time ticked by, the Void Shield showed no signs of breaking. In fact, it seemed to absorb the Gamma Ray energy, keeping it balanced against the constant barrage.

Li Lin quickly realized that not only was the Void Empress using this faint purple shield to defend against the three cosmic rays, but she was also absorbing some of the dispersed energy to replenish her own consumption. Had it not been for the AI's detection, Li Lin would have unknowingly aided his greatest enemy by supplying energy to the Void Empress.

With the losses of the mechanical army exceeding ten thousand, and the Void Spirits continuously pouring out from the Void City and the Void Rift, Li Lin realized the scale of the Void's growing power. The Void Empress's ability to create Void Spirits was beyond even his nearly million-strong mechanical legion.

The future battle against the Void's final crisis might require an army of ten million mechs... Li Lin silently speculated.

While fighting alongside Kassadin and Kai'Sa against the endless Void creatures, Li Lin gave the order for everyone to retreat from the area. Not only that, but under the AI's control, the mechanical army began to withdraw from the frontlines, taking up positions at the periphery to form a containment formation, in hopes of slowing the Void's expansion.

Caitlyn, Kai'Sa, and Kassadin didn't hesitate, knowing Li Lin must have his reasons. They followed his command without question.

However, Aatrox, Rhaast, and even Varus, who were bloodthirsty in battle, couldn't understand why Li Lin had given such a sudden order.

But when they suddenly heard a harsh, unfamiliar triple alarm, their eyes widened in shock as the atmosphere thickened with the energy of three approaching suns.
