It seemed that Zuri's flames were useless against the bear.

If Khan was to take a guess, he would say that the lava that the bear was currently residing in was the same source of the Dark Lotus Flame that Zuri could control.

Like a cup of water and a sea of water, no matter how one tried, if they poured a cup of water onto the sea, it would only join and do zero harm to the sea itself. They were from the same source!

So they couldn't wipe out each other. Zuri would have probably tried to fight the bear, only to discover that their flames were the exact same thing and none could harm the other.
