I have to be naked?

[ Eternal Yin Yang Mantra also include a normal cultivation mode. The host needs to be completely naked to cultivate this method successfully.

— Sit down, close your eyes, put your hands over your knees, clear your thoughts and breathe according to the given method...]

...

At first, Lin Yan was relieved to know that the Eternal Yin Yang Mantra can also be practised through normal cultivation, but when he read what was written in the description he was left amused.

"I have to be entirely naked when cultivating?" Lin Yan spoke out loud.

Such matter,

Sigh...

However, It only concerned him for a moment because he would always be alone while cultivating so he did not think too much about it. As a man, he did not have any shame for being naked and everyone in the servant hall was his fellow brother who cared for privacy so he wasn't troubled about it too much.

As soon as Lin Yan finished reading the instructions, he relaxed his mind and started to remove his clothing which was only a simple red robe.

Lin Yan sat down on the soft bed and positioned his hands over his knees. As he closed his eyes and began to focus on his breathing, all the useless thoughts cleared from his mind.

A few moments passed.

Lin Yan controlled his breathing as instructed in the procedure and it didn't take him a long time before he heard a notification sound that broke his well-maintained stance.

[ Experience point +2 ]

Hm? So half an hour of cultivation gives only 2 experience points?

Lin Yan was amazed to feel that the result of his cultivation was pretty obvious to him due to the announcement his status screen was demonstrating.

Then, he focused on the status screen.

Hm? How come it's 152 E.P.? Ooh, I see. 100 E.P. must have been added when I did it the last time with LingLing.

As he looked at the screen, Lin Yan noticed that to attain the next stage of the Mortal Body Realm he needed 148 E.P.

That's why,

Lin Yan did a quick maths in his mind and estimated when he would reach the next stage if cultivated for five hours daily because that's the maximum time he could save after doing his regular cleaning work.

4 E.P. = 1 hour, 20 E.P. = 5 hours = 1 day, 160 E.P. = 8 days. Hm. So 8 days to reach the next level? That's good enough I guess. Hm. As it shows on the screen, if I'm right then to reach the 4th layer of the Mortal Body Realm It would require 400 E.P...

Lin Yan calculated in his mind and found that to reach the next level it would take him almost eight days.

He did not know if his current speed was either fast or slow but it did not matter to him.

The only thing that captivated his enthusiasm was he now knew that he had a clear goal to accomplish— To reach the next level and then the next level and again...

However,

He knew that it would take a long journey for him to achieve that so he stopped thinking and began to cultivate again with a newfound serenity.

Lin Yan got immersed in cultivation. All the True Wood Qi in his surroundings slowly got absorbed into his body as he breathed in and out.

His breathing was stable and deep, his posture full of profundity, his dark raven hair resting over his shoulder but all these impressions were effortlessly overshadowed by his naked body.

Lin Yan could feel that his body was gradually becoming stronger as the True Wood Qi flowed through his meridians, strengthening them too during the procedure.

It was a new wonderful feeling for him although a little addictive.

As time passed, Lin Yan could feel the warm rays of sunlight that had begun to pour over his bare body through the window. He could feel the slightly chilly wind of a fresh morning brushing against his naked body, which naturally caused him to shudder unknowingly.

His silky hair started to flow all over his face.

This sudden hindrance broke his stance but Lin Yan didn't become angry because he knew he had to stop or else he would be late for his work.

[ Experience Point +7 ]

Lin Yan saw that he got a single E.P. more than he had thought.

He guessed that maybe it was because he woke up earlier than he had imagined. In his previous life, he had a habit of waking up early in the morning so it wasn't that difficult for him to maintain his overindulgence to sleep in this life.

Hmm. 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours before going to sleep... It's manageable but... Should I leave the sect?

The thought of leaving the sect crossed Lin Yan's mind but of course, it was only a thought which was gone in an instant.

Lin Yan didn't want to leave the sect mainly because he had no other places where he could go and being a servant in the Mystic Wood Sect had more benefits than working in the town. Not having any extra knowledge about the town also somewhat helped to prevent him from quitting the sect.

Not only that but the village, the original Lin Yan used to live in was destroyed in the invasion of low-level demon beasts six months ago. So, he had no village anymore.

As for original Lin Yan's parents, he did not have any memory of them.

As soon as Lin Yan dressed up and went outside, he saw the refreshing and breathtaking scenery of the bright sun emerging from behind the mountains in front of him. Such a scene was simply astonishing for a geek like him who spent most of the time confined in a room in his previous life.

Lin Yan did not waste any more time and began to move toward the servant hall.

Along the way, he saw many fellow servant disciples who were busy doing their appointed work.

He did not greet them out loud and only nodded as they did.

Maybe it was because they did not want to converse with someone a lot younger than them. Lin Yan was the only servant disciple who was sixteen years old. All the other members of the servant hall were older than him as it had been only a year since he joined the sect.

Lin Yan did not mind it, no it would be better to say that he was relieved, mainly because the conversation was the only thing that he did not want and doing it with someone whom he barely knew and to top it off with someone who was double the size of him, he could only wish that no one would care to greet him.

Lin Yan quickened his pace and after some time arrived at the servant hall. He carefully observed everyone and found his senior brother Fei Xu behind counter-like furniture.

Moving on.

Lin Yan approached Fei Xu and greeted him as usual.

"Good morning Senior Brother Fei." Lin Yan greeted him.

"Ooh, So it's junior brother Lin. Good morning to you too... Ohh right, you must have come to ask for your work, right?" Fei Xu quickly answered Lin Yan before he began to write something with a black chalk-like marble on a record diary.

"Yes indeed, Senior brother is correct as always." Lin Yan saw Fei Xu's writing and began to wonder what language was it. So, he seized a glance at the diary.

Hm? It's mandarin, As expected.

Lin Yan was surprised for a moment but a voice soon took him out of that.

"Junior brother Lin, you don't have to do any cleaning work for today but... Let's see, Brother Zhang is sick so I hope you can assist Senior Han in his place for preparing today's meals." Fei Xu asked Lin Yan, who, when heard him say that, was eager to meet the master chef that cooked for everyone yesterday.

Yesterday's chicken soup was mind-blowing. I wonder what this Senior Han looks like?

"Leave it to me, Senior brother. And thanks for today too." Lin Yan replied to Fei Xu and was about to leave but he stopped when he remembered something that he forgot to ask.

But, Fei Xu beat him in that as he advised him where he could find Senior Han.

"Third mountain to the left from the next juncture," Fei Xu said with a known smile on his face.

Lin Yan got what he wanted to know and nodded toward Fei Xu before moving quickly in the said direction.

He reached the destination and was amazed when he observed the massive cauldron placed at the centre of an intricate wooden building named Cooking Hall.

As Lin Yan entered the place, he saw an old man just beside the cauldron readying the meat, he was removing the outer skin of some kind of huge dead bird that was double the size of a turkey, his hands moving as gracefully as one could imagine.

Two more unknown servant disciples were also working together with the old man. The first one was bringing big chunks of wood from the mountain and the second one was bringing dead birds from one of the two rooms that were the only ones in the Cooking Hall.

"Don't just stand there like a fool. Come, cut these meat into small pieces quickly" Senior Han instructed Lin Yan because he was just standing there staring at them.

Lin Yan nodded and moved toward the heap of raw meat, from where Senior Han was tossing them when he was done with removing feathers.

Lin Yan picked up the cleaver lying near him and began to chop the meat into small pieces. He had knowledge from his previous life so it wasn't difficult for him to complete the work.

After what time it takes an incense stick to burn, Lin Yan was done with chopping all the meat.

After that, Senior Han told him to rest. But Lin Yan did not rest and next began to chop the wood. It was exciting for him to play with the sharp tool, as all the men in his previous life liked weapons and robot stuff, so it was somewhat exhilarating for him.

He only rested after he was done cutting down all the wood.

Senior Han and the other two fellows were looking at him with clearly astonished eyes. It was pretty shocking for them to witness someone do such heavy work in that short amount of time. For a moment, they believed that Lin Yan was a cultivator too.

Lin Yan did not have to do anything after that, which he absolutely enjoyed as he laid down there and began to nap.

Time passed, and Lin Yan got up when he saw that the food was prepared.

Since nobody else was there except him and his fellow teammates, Lin Yan while not being ashamed started to gobble up his breakfast like a glutton.

Burp~

After the whole day of Lin Yan passed away in the Kitchen Hall, he came back to his house.

Man, I thought it was just for breakfast but I had to wait there for dinner too, hah... Well, I enjoyed it anyway... Let's cultivate then...
