Ch.30 Fun Times(3)

After an hour or so of driving the carriage finally arrived in front of the playground, a place made for kids to enjoy their day. It lies in the point which separates the upper class and the lower class of the city to signify that no matter where they live they are always under the Lionheart's protection.

"Finally~"

Ruby gives a satisfied groan as she gets out of the carriage, looking at the giant gates in front of her she stretches her body a little as she turns her attention toward Neo.

"Here."

Neo says as he hands the carriage driver 20 copper coins for the ride. The driver gracefully takes it as he says bye to the kids and leaves on his merry way.

"So, let's go inside."

Neo says as he looks at the gate with the crest of the Lionheart, two golden lions holding the sun signifying their power, bravery, and servitude to the throne.

"Okkkk~"

Ruby mutters as she holds Neo's hands and drags him with her like an excited child, seeing her behavior Neo just smiles as he lets himself be dragged by her.

"So why did you want to come in here anyway."

Neo asked looking at the playground, it was divided into three sectors, a large open field, a forest area with various tree houses, slides, and a mini city for the children to play various games in.

"Hmm~, how about a secret for now."

Ruby gives him a cheeky reply as she contemplates which way to go first, although he is curious he suppresses it for now.

"Let's go to the city first."

Ruby exclaims as she doesn't wait for Neo's reply and drags him with her, Neo just shrugs his shoulders and follows her.

Hundreds to thousands of kids could be seen roaming around, going from one area to another, and playing with each other.

Both Neo and Ruby don't attract that much attention as they are not only transformed but also have a sudo-stealth spell applied to them.

After entering the mini-city they join a kid's group and suppress their mana, after all using mana in this place is prohibited.

That is mostly to stop bullying as most high-humans could easily beat normal humans, especially at such an age where they haven't even learned to use mana.

Plus as they have come here already before they already know what to do, so with that out of the way they decide to play games with the kids.

From hide and seek to ball tag they enjoy their time as children's laughter fills the ground, after hours of playing most of them get tired as the games stop.

"Are you tired?"

Ruby asks as she sits next to Neo on a bench, they had been running around for hours while suppressing their mana so her question for Neo was quite valid.

"Not really."

Neo replies to her question as he hands her a small bottle of juice, taking one out for himself from his space storage he opens the cold drink and takes a sip.

"Ahh~"

He gives a soft moan as the cold and sweet flavor of the drink washes down from his mouth, hearing his reply Ruby just nods as she takes the drink and also gulps it down.

Looking at the kids resting in the shades of the trees due to the summer heat, Ruby wonders what that feels like.

After so long even Neo started to feel a little hot, though not that much.

"So where do you want to go next."

Neo asks as he throws the now empty bottle to a nearby trash can, which swiftly teleports it toward a disposing site.

Marveling at such a display of magic craftsmanship for a while, Neo then turns his attention toward Ruby.

Seeing her looking at him with a smile Neo understanding her thoughts points toward the forest area.

"Forest??"

Neo asks looking at her face.

"Bingoooo~~, as for the rewards.. there are none."

Ruby replies as she uses her fingers to make a smile on her face, seeing this Neo's eyes couldn't help but twitch.

"You little."

Neo raises his voice a little as he gets ready to mess up her hair, as his hands approach her she quickly dodges.

"Catch me if you can. Hahaha"

Ruby laughs as she starts to run toward the forest, seeing this Neo stands up.

"Just you wait."

Neo says as he starts to chase her through the forest, the parents sitting there just chuckle and smile at the behavior of the two kids.

"Finally got you."

Neo exclaims as he looks at the figure of Ruby beneath him, after running for a while and using the forest to his advantage he is able to pin her down.

"Ok, OK I lost."

Ruby finally accepts her loss as she looks at the figure of Neo holding her down.

"Good now accept your punishment. Huahahah"

Neo says as he gives an evil villainous laugh as he starts to mess with her hair.

"Nooooo"

Ruby shouts acting like a weak girl trapped by a beast.

As they are currently on a branch of one of the bigger trees of the forest the children beneath get scared as they hear scary laughter and then a girl screaming.

"Hmm"

Ruby stares at Neo with an angry pout, with her hair completely deceived she couldn't help but get a little annoyed.

"Sorry, sorry ok."

Neo says as he rubs his hair a little awkwardly, he has a sorry smile but there is no way Ruby is buying it.

Stare!

She continues her stare without saying anything, so silence follows.

"Ok, ok I may have gotten a little too excited."

Neo finally accepts his mistake, well he isn't really sorry as Ruby's reaction was just too cute for him to resist.

"At least you understand your mistake."

Ruby finally lets go of her pout as it turns back into her normal face, standing up on the giant tree branch Ruby moves toward where Neo is sitting and then sits on his lap.

"Fix my hair."

She demanded in a tone that didn't take no for an answer as she leaned closer toward Neo.

"Ok, ok My lady."

Neo gives into her demand, after all even if she hadn't asked she would have fixed her hair anyway. So with expert precision, he starts to fix her hair, as for why he is so good at it, well we have Ruby here to blame.

"Hmmm."

Ruby just hums to herself as she enjoys the moment, closing her eyes she leans even more on Neo's body making it hard for him to fix her hair. But Neo didn't complain as he diligently continued with his task.

"Hey, Neo."

Ruby calls him in a small, somewhat sleepy voice.

"Yes"

Neo replies in a gentle tone hearing her calling.

"Do you know why I wanted to come here?"

Ruby asks as she turns her head up looking at Neo's face which is currently looking at her, the royal purple and silver eyes stare at each other.

"I have some guesses."

Neo replies truthfully.

"Is that so, well let me tell you anyway..."

Ruby turns her head down looking into the front, taking both of Neo's hands she makes him hug her as she closes her eyes.

"It is because this is where we ran to on our first escape."

She says her words as her breathing gets more steady, she fell asleep it seems all the running from the day caught up to her.

"I see."

Neo mutters as he makes her lean more comfortably on his body.
