Tyran stared into the darkness which surrounded him, softened by the glow from below.
Below him was larva and he was standing atop a rickety boat.
He quickly sat down, grabbed both oars and began paddling ahead.
The air was thin and filled with the faint smell of corpses, his ears could even pick up sounds of wailing from afar.
This was the underworld,a place where the living dared not venture into and yet he was here to save the life of the one thing Fiona had left him with, their son.
Only humans were given a chance to ascend to the creator's abode but when Semonios die they come here,to suffer eternal punishment that was part of the punishment bestowed upon them by the creator.
Virtuous humans so he heard, but demons never possed this quality since their very soul itself was tainted and corrupted, creatures sentenced to suffer in enternal darkness in the deepest dregs of the underworld.
Yet no one could question him.He was the very being that brought life itself into existence,no one could oppose him not even the so called gods that were said to have existed for many millennia or those with the power of gods if there was anything like that.
Fiona was sent here no doubt but he hoped not to see her.
To face the Lord of the underworld, and leave the underworld in one piece he needed bravery and courage but she would only make him manifest weakness.
Good thing he still had his powers in this world he wouldn't mind fighting hades to get what he wanted.
Tyran shot a flame up above and as it ascended, all he could see was darkness, not a fun place to be, certainly not a place anyone would love to be.
He paddled on for what seemed like hours until suddenly,he felt his boat hit land and looked ahead.
Unlike the land he knew, fissures and crevices filled with a green liquid producing steam were carved into the ground.
It was not not a floor suitable to walk on.The hot liquid he could tell was craving burning his feet.
A pungent stench filled the air and the screams of agony louder.
Was he closer to the dregs of the underworld where lost souls and demons alike where sent for all eternity?
When he was dead he would definitely go here but Tyran had no desire whatsoever to see it.
Tyran tried spreading out his wings but nothing happened.
Since he couldn't fly in the underworld_ that would have been the easiest way to forge ahead.
His eyes stared at the ground below, luckily he still had his magic.
An ice magic circle appeared below his feet as they touched the ground.
Tyran walked on till he felt something watching him.
Was he being followed by someone?no rather he had been surrounded from the very beginning.
He stopped and looked around him, flame in hand.
"Who are you?! don't be a coward and show yourself!"he called out into the darkness only to be answered by a wave of laughter bursting around him like firecrackers in unison.
"To see hades you cannot go with your body, only your soul can cross the dregs. You might never return, turn back now you have the chance"the voices boomed.
"I didn't come here to die"Tyran said, his eyes darting all over.
"You won't unless Hades says so"
The laughter resumed again,Tyran was getting sick of it.
"Who are you!"he demanded although deep down he felt he would be better off not knowing.
Tyran watched as multiple eyes opened around him everywhere as far as his eyes could see.
"We are your subconscious mind...the part that warns you of things ahead of time, better put, your intuition".
"That's absurd .. how can I see my own intuition?"
"Hades is expecting you, further on from her we cannot reach you, cannot guide you hence you are likely to make rash decisions and mistakes that can make you stay here for enternity...Be careful, hades is more tricky than you can imagine whether you live or not now depends on you... one more thing, when you meet the guardian be careful with what you say or think".
Tyran blinked and the eyes where gone.
He stopped walking as their words rephrased in his head.
From here onwards he could live or die.
Why was he here to begin with, risking his life for his son.
Right,Ramses was his son and although demons are not known to show affection, for some reason, the desire to protect this child overwhelmed him and he had also made a promise to Fiona.
He clenched his teeth and walked ahead clinging unto the traces of courage still left in him.
Death wasn't an option,he would leave here even if he had to destroy this place, with his powers and a Hades without a form, not even the lord of the underworld would stand a chance.
Tyran stopped at the edge of what seemed to be a cliff, staring into the darkness ahead.
Cries from below had intensified and was loud enough to burst his ear drums, the dregs where below him.
The darkness stared back into his face,he couldn't see anything.
A dark endless sea of flames probably thousands of feet below stretched as far as the eyes could see.
Suddenly he sensed a strong intimidating presence from behind.
Tyran turned to see a huge figure covered in larva.
It had the likeness of a semonio and stood hundreds of feet tall that he couldn't see it's face.
"What in the world!"was all he could
mutter as he felt his whole body tremble.
"The guardian senses an intruder, something that doesn't belong here....know ye not that this is no place for the living?"it's loud voice resonated in the darkness sending ripples of fear through his whole body.
But Tyran tried his best to remain calm and stablize his trembling knees.
What seeing Hades meant him fighting this thing?
"I come seeking Hades's tears.
"Ohhhhh!!!...then you must leave your body behind".
"I am well aware of that!"
"And you might never return yet you still seek to see the lord?for what reason".
"Not for my sake, for my son's...I want him to live".
Tyran felt the ground tremble as he watched the creature to one knee.
Cracks and and vertexes filled a formless face with larva drooling from what appeared to be it's mouth.Worst of all,it's face was oddly arranged,as if turned upside down, mouth above and eyes below.
Tyran had never seen anything so ugly,he fought the urge to look away,as long as it meant not fighting this thing.
His face held no expression as he looked into it's red glowing eyes.
For a second Tyran thought it was studying him, perhaps seeking a flaw,an excuse to send him to the dregs.
"You appear frightened of me as you should be but quite behaved for an emperor..I Know not why Hades is expecting you but for some reason,I find you worthy of meeting my Lord".
Tyran exhaled and lowered his head.
"Thank you".
"You have no attribute that displeases me and as a demon the dregs still remains your eternal abode,I clearly see no reason for pushing you down into it right now...you may pass!".
Tyran watched as it's figure fade into the darkness.
Pushing him?...could he have mistakenly done something that could have amounted to that?
He felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he gulped in thick saliva
Thank goodness.
Suddenly,Tyran collapsed shutting his eyes to surrender to death,a far greater force no one could contend with.
