The car door opened, and **Musujime Awaki** stepped out of the black sedan. She swallowed nervously and glanced cautiously at the person beside her.
Objectively speaking, she was a beautiful middle school student. Her red hair was tied into two ponytails, and her sharp OL-style suit made this high school girl look particularly alluring. However, her beauty was of no concern to the person beside her.
The person next to her was someone whose looks were no less striking than her own. White hair, red eyes, well-defined features, and smooth, fair skin. The only drawback was the cane in their right hand. Their eyes met briefly, sending a chill down Musujime Awaki's spine, as if her entire body had been filled with lead.
**Accelerator**.
Musujime Awaki would never forget his name. The two of them walked side by side toward the building, and information about him flashed through her mind. **The #1 Level 5 of Academy City**, a figure of interest to the Board Chairman, one of the two most special individuals in this city. According to the information left by Director **Li Mo**, even if they were to oppose the entire Board of Directors, they should never stand against Accelerator.
Musujime Awaki naturally followed her superior's orders. Moreover, she truly had no desire to become Accelerator's enemy.
Even though he was injured and weakened, Accelerator was still a monster. During the scramble for the remains of the **Tree Diagram**, she had clashed with him, and the outcome was predictable—she had been utterly defeated.
Not to mention, he had recently defeated **Kakine Teitoku**.
Before she knew it, Musujime Awaki realized they had arrived at their destination. Accelerator impatiently pushed open the door, revealing the only person sitting inside: **Yomikawa Aiho**.
She was Accelerator's guardian.
Musujime Awaki suddenly felt like the odd one out in this three-person council. What was the director thinking? Why had he chosen the three of them?
She couldn't understand the director's choice, but considering that the director always had a way of producing valuable intelligence, he must have had his reasons.
In fact, she should be grateful to him. From being a mere student, she had gained authority—even if it was only a third of the director's power, it was still power.
As she pondered this, Musujime Awaki took her seat at the small round table. Three people sat around it: one adult and two students.
Yomikawa Aiho, the only adult, sighed. "I never thought I'd be sitting at a table discussing matters with two students. Did your director lose his mind?"
She was clearly addressing Musujime Awaki.
But before Musujime Awaki could respond, Accelerator spoke up. "I don't care about the director's authority. What I care about is my demand. The other directors have assured me that as long as you two agree, it'll go through without a hitch."
"Fine, let's get this over with," Yomikawa Aiho said. "I agree with disbanding the dark side. The key now is Musujime Awaki's opinion."
"Huh?"
Accelerator's gaze turned toward her.
His eyes were fierce. The #1 of Academy City had an aura that made it seem as though he had always been the top.
Musujime Awaki felt a chill run down her back, as if she had been thrown into the frozen tundra of Siberia.
Even though they had worked together before, ever since he returned from Siberia, she couldn't quite figure him out. Still, Musujime Awaki steadied her breathing and said, "I choose to abstain."
It seemed Yomikawa Aiho and Accelerator were unaware of the information left behind by the director.
Thinking of the text message she had received on her phone, Musujime Awaki regained her courage. She found the same resolve she had when working with Accelerator and said, "But Accelerator, have you considered one thing? You can't eliminate the dark side from the top down."
Accelerator frowned. "What are you talking about? I don't get it."
His attitude made it clear that reasoning with him was pointless. Musujime Awaki simply said, "I have nothing more to add."
She would wait and see if other dark side factions emerged. Maybe they wouldn't appear at all.
Yomikawa Aiho stepped in to ease the tension. "In that case, let's discuss the matter of acting on the director's authority. Oh, Accelerator, you can go ahead and leave. Just don't start a fight with Kakine Teitoku."
"Got it, Yomikawa!"
Accelerator replied irritably, shoving his hands into his pockets as he left.
Yomikawa Aiho paid no mind to Accelerator's abrasive personality and turned to Musujime Awaki. "Did he leave any instructions? Tell me about them."
…The conversation inside had nothing to do with Accelerator. The #1 walked straight out of the room and saw a young man standing nearby.
"Long time no see, Accelerator."
"Kakine Teitoku, aren't you afraid I'll tear your body apart again?"
"Do you really think a threat like that would scare me? Accelerator."
**Kakine Teitoku**, the #2 of Academy City.
After returning from Russia, Accelerator hadn't expected to see this guy again. His brain had been shattered into three pieces, and there wasn't a single intact organ in his body. Yet, here he was, fully recovered. What was even more absurd was that he was standing near Yomikawa Aiho.
Accelerator hadn't forgotten that during their battle, this villain had stabbed Yomikawa in an attempt to capture **Last Order**.
"Looking for a fight? I don't mind. I'll just turn you into paste again."
"I won't be as pathetic as last time. But I'm not here to challenge you," Kakine Teitoku said. "It's not that I don't want to, but that woman said we shouldn't start a conflict."
"Tch."
Accelerator walked away without looking back.
When he had entered the meeting room earlier, he had seen Kakine Teitoku coming out of the room next door. At the time, his attention had been on Yomikawa, so he hadn't said anything.
Now, after this exchange, he understood. That foolish woman, Yomikawa, must have said something to make Kakine Teitoku back down. Even though that guy had stabbed her in the stomach and sent her to the hospital, she still forgave him.
How annoying. If that guy makes any moves, I'll just kill him.
Still, Accelerator had a feeling that he and Kakine Teitoku would inevitably clash. When that fight would happen, he'd deal with it tomorrow.
For now, their mutual hostility was temporarily paused because of Yomikawa Aiho.
With his killing intent subdued, Accelerator lowered his head in thought. He'd find some time to talk to that foolish woman about this issue.
For now… he headed to the hospital. After returning from Russia, the first thing he had done was send Last Order to that hospital so **Heaven Canceller** could check if the girl had fully recovered.
Accelerator knew that all of Last Order's issues had been perfectly resolved in Russia, but he still couldn't rest easy without having that doctor examine her.
The distance between **District 13** and **District 7** wasn't far, and with transportation readily available, Accelerator quickly arrived at the hospital.
Entering the room, he found the little girl complaining about how she was completely fine. When she saw Accelerator, Last Order rushed over on her tiny feet.
"Let's go home!"
"Yeah, let's go home."
At this moment, the #1 was like a gentle breeze—not a raging typhoon.
