Is This Guy Stupid? No Only Racist

"So where will my house be located?" Winter asked curiously, "It would make moving a lot easier." She explained her hurry.

Akira waved it off, "Don't worry! We got all the time in the world for that!" She reassured the Ex-Specialist, "Let's discuss a few minor things first." She suggested.

Winter sighed at this, but nodded, "Very well, what is it you want to discuss specifically?" She asked, wanting to make it quick.

In response, Akira pulled out a paper titled 'Guild Staff Registration 7', "Just put in your personal information and choose a weapon from the list below." She instructed.

Reading the registration to confirm it wasn't anything sketchy, Winter proceeded to fill it up, before pausing at the list, she didn't know what any of these weapons were.

"I... May need some assistance..." Winter admitted, her face full of confusion, "I don't know what these weapons are..." She explained.

Walking around the counter, Akira opened a closet in the room where all the weapons were, "Try out how these feel so you can make a choice." She suggested.

Seeing the weapons, Winter checked the list to see which was which, figuring that the curved battle axe is the Boomerang Axe, the hammer with the adjustable handle is the Stamp Mallet, the dual guns with the syrinje shaped, the Injection Pistols, the gauntlets and giant hook the Sovereign Pulley, and there was one missing.

"Hey, I think the teeth and chain is missing..." Winter pointed out, only seeing four wepaons instead of five.

Looking in the closet, Akira facepalmed before going to her desk and pulling a bear trap with a chain attached to it, "It's my personal favorite." She explained with a smile.

At the sight of the weapon, Winter's first thought was 'absolutely not that', so she looked at the other weapons and the only one that looked like she could properly use is the Sovereign Pulley, so she put the gauntlets on and grabbed the hook.

Moving the hook around a bit, Winter felt how light it is, trying some attacking motions and felt quite impressed by how easy it was to chain each movement, "Not bad, but this is seems way too light to do any significant damage." She critiqued.

"It's the gauntlets that make it light." Akira reveladed, making Winter look at her surprised before taking said gauntlets off and trying to lift the hook up.

Unlike before, the hook felt like it was five hundred times heavier, and when she stopped trying, she felt incredibly winded, "*Huff... Huff* What kind of magic... Do you use here...?" Winter questioned with an incredulous expression.

Hearing magic made Akira burst out laughing, "Really!? Heh! Magic isn't real you know!?" She said, looking at her new assistant as if she was insane, "I'll give it to you though, I have no clue if there's a world that has magic, but it's not this one!" She added to make it more clear.

"That's a little mean..." Winter said before her scroll started ringing, "Hello?" She said as she picked up the call, "Yes I'm still at the guild... Oh my Oum... Yes I'll tell her, thanks general." She said before hanging up, "My father is planning an attack on the guild..." She informed Akira.

The guild master looked at her incredulously, "Is your father stupid?" She asked with genuine curiosity.

"No, he's only racist." She corrected befroe thinking about it, "Though that might be worse..." she considered.

Akira groaned, but slapped her cheeks slightly to get her blood pumping a little harder, "Alright! I'll send some Extinction Worker Rank Hunters to deal with it!" She exclaimed as she hurried to write some letters.

Lena's House.

"I can't believe I did something like that in my sleep nonetheless!" Lena lamented with tears still streaming from her eyes, "I didn't want to get married, but it still stings..." She lamented further.

Ruby placed a hand over her now patched neck wound and just looked at the crying Meseri-Arachnid, "I... Think we're missing some context here Lena..." she pointed out, wanting to know what the waterworks were about.

To this Lena didn't answer, but instead Blake handed her the book that talked about Lena's race, "You might want to have a look at this." The Cat Faunus stated with a very serious expression on her facee.

Reading the book, Ruby ended up to the line that made Blake make that face and now she felt like crying too, "A bite is akin to marriage for Meseri-Arachnids..." She read outloud, making everyone else look shocked and slightly horrified at the implications.

"Wait, if it wasn't intentional, doesn't that mean that it isn't official?" Jaune pointed out.

"Unfortunately no." Blake negated, "It says that the mark of a bite is what seals the marriage, not the intention." She explained what she read.

This information only furthened the panic in the room, "Isn't there a divorce system of some kind?" Weiss suggested, hoping that the answer would be yes.

Taking the book back from the now crying Ruby, Blake read further until she found something, "It says that a marriage can be broken by cutting off the chunk of flesh that has the mark on it." She read outloud.

"...Better than nothing..." Weiss responded with a slight grimace, wondering how they would go about on about that.

Hearing that it was a solution, Lena stopped crying and went over to another room and came back holding a bottle, "This helps heal any wound, I'll carefully cut the part off, then pour it on." She instructed.

The solution wasn't exactly what Ruby wanted, but it was better than being married while in school, "Please just be gentle..." She requested, closing her eyes and waiting for the inevitable while the others looked away.
