A Stepfather

Yin Yi Bo looked up, noticing that they almost reached the convenience store they often stopped by on his way home. 

He glanced at the little boy beside him who had his head down and pursed his lips. "Tang Chen," Yin Yi Bo called and waited for the little boy to look at him. "Let's stop by the convenience store. I have something I wanted to buy."

Tang Chen nodded. He followed Yin Yi Bo into the convenience store and looked around. Other than the staff at the counter, there was no one else around.

"Go ahead and pick something for you and Xiao Xiao," Yin Yi Bo said. "It will be my treat."

Without waiting for Tang Chen to reply, Yin Yi Bo grabbed the basket at the side and went to pick up a few items around the store.

Tang Chen watched as Yin Yi Bo disappeared behind the shelf. He hesitated briefly before deciding to head over to the snack shelf he often stopped by. The little boy began to choose a few snacks for him and his little sister.
