GENESIS OF BETRAYAL

Chapter 29: Betrayal

The following day, McCarthy arrived at work very late. He had spent nearly half of his work hours compensating for the lost time from last night.

"You're welcome, Sir," Nelly greeted.

McCarthy didn't respond, merely handing her his bag as he stood in the center of the area where every employee could see him. The expression on his face was dreadful. His hair was disheveled, yet he still appeared remarkably handsome. Perhaps, this was his new style.

He glanced around, his eyes meeting Olivia's concerned gaze. She, too, was worried about the vulnerable look on his face. She couldn't pinpoint the cause, but she felt a sense of care towards him.

Approaching Olivia, he began to investigate what she was doing on his laptop. He leaned over and took control of her mouse, scrolling through designs one after another.

As he bent over, Olivia couldn't help but stare at the attractive figure before her.
