Chapter 58 - THE FALL

He gazed at the ground, and it appeared remarkably high. Not that he had any intention of leaping or fleeing; he could hear the distant wailing of police sirens down below.

"How should we call for backup?" he inquired.

"I didn't. They might have followed," he responded.

"So everyone thinks I'm a killer?"

"All the evidence points in that direction."

"If you believe I did it, then arrest me now," he conceded, extending his hands.

Without hesitation, she swiftly handcuffed him, securing his hands behind his back, and escorted him away.

At Europe Matilda's Company

"Why was my son arrested for murder?" Matilda implored her friend, who had paid a visit to her office in the U.K. "My son is innocent!"

She had already heard the news about her son, but she pretended to be unaware.
