Brutality of the Lydia Empire

"The Lydia Empire is the most powerful nation in the world and the only country capable of hunting down Witchs. Under the tyrannical rule of Emperor Goeth, the Lydia Empire advances in technology, leading to the proliferation of smart machines and digital technology known as Gear Expansion. Among these technologies is the SDAM-2 Magical Photon Inhibitor, which nullifies magic."

Upon hearing this, Eiji now understands why Witchs in this world are so powerless. Without magic, Witchs are no different from weak women.

(I wonder if the Magical Photon Inhibitor affects me?)

Although slightly concerned, Eiji remains calm even if the Magical Photon Inhibitor can eliminate his Cursed Energy.

It should be noted that he was born with Heavenly Restrictions, accepting superhuman physicality as a substitute for half of his Cursed Energy. Even if he can't use Cursed Energy due to the Magical Photon Inhibitor, it doesn't render him powerless like Witchs who can only accept their fate to be slaughtered.

Later, Eiji listens to the man's words to gather information.

"Emperor Goeth has declared genocide against all Witchs, viewing them as necessary to control humanity. He claims that the only way for humanity to determine its fate is by eradicating all Witchs."

The man pauses, unable to avoid glancing at his wife covered with a blanket. Sorrow and regret are evident on his face.

Wiping the slightly moist corners of his eyes, he continues.

"Based on this decree, Witch hunting is carried out by the Lydia Empire. The Lydia Empire's soldiers witness the deaths of thousands of Witchs who once served as their guides and mentors. Witchs are hanged, and their demise is celebrated as the Witch Hunt Festival. Witchs under the influence of the Magical Photon Inhibitor are powerless against the Lydia Empire's soldiers who continue to rape and kill them for their pleasure."

Eiji watches the man clench his fists so tightly that his nails pierce his skin, causing it to bleed. Through this story, he develops a negative impression of the Lydia Empire.

Committing cruel and heinous acts against Witchs who guided human life in the past, such people are worse than animals.

Seemingly not feeling the pain, the man speaks with a hoarse voice.

"The Lydia Empire refuses to allow Witchs to escape their borders, determined to hunt and showcase Witchs in front of the masses to justify their murders as progress for humanity. To achieve this goal, the Lydia Empire leads a massive campaign against all Witchs, leading other nations in the Witch Hunt, causing millions of Witch deaths worldwide. It is said that the death toll is so high that Witch bodies cover the earth."

"Out of fear that the piles of bodies brought by their genocide could cause a global pandemic, a solution was taken to alleviate societal concerns by creating execution facilities for Witchs. These facilities gather Witchs captured from around the world to be killed. Using execution machines, Witchs are thrown in and destroyed to death as they futilely use magic to try to escape."

"Ha ha ha... Funny, isn't it? Humans are blessed with reason, yet they commit genocide under the pretext of making humanity the rulers of this world. For those ridiculous reasons, countless lives become victims of human arrogance..."

"Sasha..."

In the end, the man cannot contain his sorrow and hugs his wife's corpse, crying like a child.

Eiji: "..."

Even after hearing all of that, he doesn't feel anger or sadness. There's no emotional fluctuation in his heart. With this, he becomes more convinced that there's something wrong with him.

The lack of empathy and sympathy makes Eiji increasingly convinced that he suffers from alexithymia.

Alexithymia is a psychological condition where a person has difficulty identifying, understanding, and expressing their emotions. People with alexithymia tend to struggle with distinguishing bodily sensations related to emotions and articulating their feelings verbally. This can affect the quality of interpersonal relationships and emotional well-being.

(After returning, I should try to see a psychologist)

Eiji schedules this in his mind.

After a while, the man stops crying.

"Sorry, I showed something embarrassing."

"No. In my opinion, there's nothing shameful about a man crying. Grief is something both men and women possess. It's just that the resilience to endure sorrow differs between men and women. Women's resilience to sorrow is weaker than men's, which is why women crying is considered normal while men crying is seen as weak and mentally feeble."

"You have a good mindset, young man."

The man can't help but praise Eiji.

"One last question, is there a metropolis nearby?" Eiji asks.

"Metropolis Mamuta is 70 kilometers east of here." The man answers.

"Thank you for answering my questions. It's not much, but please accept this."

"What?!"

The man's eyes widen in shock as he sees Eiji wave his hand, and a stack of food and drinks materializes from thin air.

"May you be happy with your wife, uncle."

After saying that, Eiji turns and walks away.

The food and drinks are his compensation as a form of reward for providing him with information.

"Who are you really?"

"Jujutsu Sorcerer."

Raising his right hand, Eiji waves his hand, and after turning, his figure is no longer visible.

"Jujutsu Sorcerer... Is that the term for male Witchs?"

This is the first time the man has heard that term. Taking one of the foods, he doesn't understand the writing on the packaging.

"Never mind, it has nothing to do with me. At least with this supply, I don't need to look for food for a while."

Back on the bed, the man pulls the blanket, and a silver-haired woman appears.

Stroking his wife's cheek, the man reminisces about their moments together.

"I must continue my song, Sasha..."

Sitting next to his wife, the man holds her right hand but doesn't sing as he mentioned.

"It's okay. There's no one else."

"Hic... Hic... Hic..."

The man can't hold back his tears and begins to cry.

"Everyone who accused you of being a Witch and locked you in here is gone now."

As if responding to her husband, Sasha's corpse leans against the man.

"From now on, we'll always be together."

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you back then, Sasha."

....

Walking out of the police station, Eiji gets on the motorcycle and starts the engine.

"Love, huh... I'm a little envious... Could it be that one day I will feel love?"

Seeing the man's dedication to his wife, Eiji can't help but be impressed.

He also wants to meet a woman who can make him fall in love.

"It's still too early for me to discuss romance. My priority is to become stronger, strong enough to defeat Sukuna. If not, even if I find a woman I love, without enough strength, she will become my weakness."

Thinking about the many tragedies in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Eiji shakes his head and rides the motorcycle following the man's directions.

His destination: Metropolis Mamuta!
