The Weapon Shop

Holding onto the bottom of the horse-drawn carriage, Eiji could hear the conversation between Louise and Kirche, and occasionally Saito would also speak.

'This is strange, why isn't my Cursed Energy recovering at all? What exactly happened to me?'

Operating with just one hand was very inconvenient. Moreover, his left hand wasn't his dominant hand.

Eiji had been waiting for two days for his body to automatically replenish his Cursed Energy so he could use Reverse Cursed Technique. Unfortunately, until now, there were no signs of his Cursed Energy recovering at all.

Even if there was only a small amount of Cursed Energy, with his Six Eyes that could manipulate Cursed Energy down to the atomic level, he could use Reverse Cursed Technique.

'Is it possible that I've lost my qualifications as a Jujutsu Sorcerer?'

Thinking about this possibility, Eiji's usually expressionless face showed a slight fluctuation.

He couldn't remain calm upon finding out he had lost his powers. After all, he had trained since childhood to reach this stage, and he wasn't willing to lose everything!

'Don't jump to conclusions, this is just a hypothesis without any basis. This is the first time I've experienced running out of Cursed Energy, so it might take a few days to recover my Cursed Energy. That's a logical explanation, given that my Cursed Energy capacity is above the average Jujutsu Sorcerer.'

Regaining his composure, Eiji could only wait patiently.

Even if he could no longer use Cursed Energy, what could he do?

'Assuming I truly am no longer a Jujutsu Sorcerer, that doesn't mean I'm powerless. The power scale of this world isn't high, which means there's no one who could be a threat... Hmmm... Doesn't that mean I'm unbeatable? I can live freely without worrying about the consequences of my actions. Compared to the Jujutsu Kaisen world, which has threats like Sukuna, the world of Zero no Tsukaima is undoubtedly safer, even Ancient Dragons can be killed by jet fighters.'

As this thought crossed his mind, Eiji shook his head to dispel it.

He couldn't just enjoy his life in this world and abandon his acquaintances in the Jujutsu Kaisen world.

The reason he was so obsessed with power was to change future tragedies. He didn't want to see his cousin, Gojo Satoru, who had just escaped from the Prison Realm, get killed in a duel against Sukuna.

Moreover, if no one stopped Sukuna, it would be a disaster for humanity!

Of course, Eiji wasn't a hero of justice, he just didn't want the people around him to be killed.

'Power... My power is still not enough, I need to become stronger!'

His ambition to seek power grew stronger.

❀❀❀

Saito and Louise walked leisurely through the streets of Tristain after parking the school's horse-drawn carriage in the city gate's stable.

Originally, Kirche wanted to accompany them, but she had urgent matters.

"Ah, traveling by horse-drawn carriage isn't as comfortable as a car."

Saito's waist was sore and stiff.

Louise glanced at him and pouted.

"You're useless. Haven't you ever ridden a horse-drawn carriage before? Commoners are commoners."

"..."

Ignoring her sharp words, Saito curiously looked around.

The white cobblestone streets were filled with many commoners. Street vendors were selling fruits and meat, and men and women of all ages walked along the street.

'This isn't much different from my world, except the level of civilization here is very primitive, like medieval Europe.'

The streets were lined with shops. Saito, filled with curiosity, couldn't stop glancing around. As he looked at a strangely shaped frog in a bottle on a vendor's mat, Louise pulled him by his ear.

"Hey, don't walk into the alley. There are many pickpockets and thieves there. You're carrying my wallet in your jacket, right?"

"Yes, yes. How can someone steal something so heavy?"

"With magic, it can be done in an instant."

But no one around looked like a Mage. Saito had learned to distinguish between commoners and Mages at the academy. Mages always wore robes and walked with great arrogance. According to Louise, that was the attitude of nobles.

"Aren't they all commoners?"

"Of course, but not all Mages are nobles. If for some reason a noble leaves their family, discards their family name of their own will, gets demoted to mercenary or criminal… Hey! Are you listening?"

Saito ignored Louise. He was too fixated on the street signs.

The two of them continued talking without noticing a hooded man following them from behind.

That person was none other than Kamiki Eiji.

After stealing a hooded robe to hide his white hair, he followed Saito and Louise.

From their conversation, he knew they were heading to a weapon shop. For Eiji, who temporarily couldn't use his Limitless Technique because his Cursed Energy was completely drained, he needed a weapon for self-defense.

He couldn't trouble Siesta to find a sword for him.

'I feel a bit nostalgic... In this city, I once caused a big commotion over a trivial matter. The nobles are too fussy about etiquette, no wonder they almost went extinct in the modern world because they couldn't keep up with the times.'

Of course, Earth in the modern era still had nobles and royal families, such as in United Kingdom. But compared to the medieval period, their numbers had sharply decreased and were replaced by other regimes.

'It seems that's the weapon shop.'

Eiji saw Louise walk into a narrower street, with Saito following her.

He caught up with the two of them but maintained his distance.

A pungent smell from a pile of trash on the ground assaulted their noses.

"Really dirty here." Saito complained while covering his nose.

"I told you, nobles don't often come here." Louise said, quickening her pace.

"It should be near Peyman's Potion Shop… I remember it being around here…"

She saw a bronze sign and shouted happily.

"Ah! Found it!"

A sign shaped like a sword hung below. This seemed to be the weapon shop.

Louise and Saito opened the door and entered the shop.

Since Eiji didn't have money, he didn't intend to acquire a weapon through legitimate means. So, he jumped onto the weapon shop's roof and entered through the ceiling.

Inside the weapon shop, the walls and shelves were filled with weapons in disarray. A detailed armor adorned the room.

A man in his 50s was smoking a pipe and looked suspiciously at the two newcomers. Then, he noticed the pentagram on Louise's gold buttons.

Immediately, he put down his pipe and greeted warmly.

"Hello, noble lady, welcome to my humble shop. All my goods here are genuine and priced right! No fraud here!"

"I'm looking for a sword." Louise said directly.

"Oh… That's quite strange… A noble buying a sword! Quite surprising."

"Why so?"

"Well… A priest should wield a holy staff, a soldier wields a sword, and a Mage wields a magic wand. Isn't that the rule?"

"Oh, it's not for me, but for my Familiar."

"Ahh… a Familiar who can wield a sword, huh?"

The shopkeeper said in surprise, looking at Saito.

"Is it that man over there?"

Louise nodded.

"..."

The three of them didn't realize there was a fourth person secretly watching from the corner.

'What a pity, there are no weapons that resemble katanas.'

Observing the swords displayed in the weapon shop, Eiji felt a bit disappointed.

Compared to Western swords, he preferred Oriental swords like katanas.
