Meanwhile, on Dani’s end, as they hurried to the area marked by the team, he relied on Force Leica’s tracking skills to guide them to what could only be described as an “abnormality” hidden deep within the forest. As they arrived, the first thing that hit him was an overwhelming stench of rot, followed by a grotesque scene that answered every lingering question.

“So this is the source of the disaster,” Wolf remarked, raising his sleeve to cover his nose.

The two men carefully crept into the area, which had been cleared to a barren wasteland. The ground was parched, covered with heaps of dragon bones and decaying flesh piled high.

“These things just appeared recently, yet they’ve already drained the life from this island at an alarming rate. Their ability must involve absorbing energy,” Dani analyzed while scanning the surroundings.
