The sound of a heavy impact accompanied a body sent flying, crashing into the ground with no chance of regaining its footing. Wide eyes filled with shock and disbelief stared out as the realization of the damage set in. If not for the abilities of the Lost Number card, Hibiki would have been finished right there and then. Even so, his body ached terribly; just trying to push himself upright was an almost insurmountable task.

"W-what’s going on? Why is this happening?"

The more he saw, the more bewildered he became. The most haunting thought in his mind was the stark reality before him—the enemy, unscathed. No injuries marred them at all, even though he had been absolutely certain that his strike had been a killing blow.

Yet, here he was, grievously wounded instead.
