“Feels like a troublemaking kid just roped me into doing something bad,” he said jokingly.
“Trust me, compared to me or Klein, you’re an absolute angel,” Lia replied with a laugh. “Sometimes, being a little rebellious isn’t such a bad thing. Especially if you want to surpass us someday. From what I know about Klein, he’s never once held back or worried about this or that in a duel. He brings everything he’s got to the table, every time. The job of worrying about counters and strategies isn’t his—it’s his opponents’. And so far, I haven’t seen anyone successfully counter his combos, even when they’ve studied him extensively.”
Her deep blue eyes locked onto her boyfriend’s, sending a clear message: she wanted him to become that kind of duelist—or perhaps even surpass Klein altogether. Joke chuckled softly in response.
“With you staring at me with so much expectation, how could I possibly argue?”
Lia didn’t reply. She simply gave him one of her signature sweet smiles.
