Liam, feeling the weight of recent revelations, exhaled a deep breath of exasperation.
"You know what," he said, "Let's just put this aside for now." His gaze lingered on the screen displaying Elina, and he shook his head, trying to clear the fog of confusion.
Aurora, sensing his mood, let out a light giggle and turned off the screen. Standing up from the couch with a flourish, she declared, "Look at this!"
In an instant, her clothes began to shift and change, cycling through various styles in a dazzling display. Finally, they settled on a goth-loli dress complemented by knee socks and boots, her hair styled into two playful pigtails.
"What do you think?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Liam, amused and impressed, clapped his hands.
"You look great! It's amazing how much this style suits you."
The outfit, meant to be cute, also accentuated her legs in an unexpectedly alluring way. For a moment, he found himself caught in a trance, admiring her new look.
Aurora's thankful voice snapped him out of his daze. He turned to see her sitting beside him again, her smile innocent yet somehow mischievous. Liam could feel his heartbeat quicken, a realization dawning on him. With Aurora now able to touch him, their relationship was bound to change.
He glanced at her, her innocent smile beaming back at him, and sighed softly.
There's going to be a long road ahead of us.
Aurora, with a flick of her finger, pointed at the system's interface.
"We should really talk about this," she said, her voice tinged with excitement. Liam nodded, his eyes lighting up. Despite the enigmatic nature of his life, at heart, he was still a normal teenager with typical hobbies. As a huge otaku, he loved everything from manga to anime to video games. The concept of a real-life system, something so integral to his beloved niche, thrilled him.
"What do you think about it?" he asked Aurora, his enthusiasm palpable.
Aurora opened her mouth to respond, clearly just as excited as Liam. But words seemed to escape her, and after a moment of struggling, she managed only, "It's amazing."
Liam chuckled. Was this the first time she'd been left speechless?
That's when he noticed something peculiar on one of the system's screens. His avatar was still diligently battling in the dungeon, a testament to the 'idle farming' feature. But besides his avatar was a new, strange addition: a chibi version of Aurora, dual-wielding guns and fighting monsters with gusto.
He turned to Aurora, his mouth agape. She wore a smug smile, puffing out her chest proudly.
"So you noticed," she beamed.
With a flourish, she reached into the system's inventory and pulled out a gun resembling the one Liam had crafted from monster bones.
Holding it triumphantly, she declared, "I can touch not only you but also any items created through the system."
"Do you know what this means?" Aurora asked, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. She didn't wait for Liam's response, too excited to keep her thoughts to herself.
"From now on, I can help you more directly. I can materialize anywhere near you, fight beside you," she explained, her words spilling out faster with each revelation.
She turned to the crafting screen with an even brighter spark in her eyes.
"Think about the possibilities, Liam! The gadgets, weapons, and equipment I can create through this," she exclaimed, her voice a crescendo of excitement.
"I can even upgrade my mainframe!"
Liam watched Aurora, a warm smile spreading across his face. He had never seen her this animated. It was as if he was witnessing the emergence of a new side of her. He remembered the early days when she could barely communicate, a stark contrast to the lively, almost human-like presence before him now. The world was indeed full of wonders, but Aurora, with her unique existence, was a marvel in her own right.
Her excitement was infectious, and Liam found himself grinning like an accomplice in her joy. It was like watching a child on Christmas morning, unwrapping the world one wonder at a time.
A thought suddenly struck Liam, interrupting Aurora's enthusiastic monologue. He turned towards her and summoned her status screen.

"Etherial," he read aloud, his voice tinged with disbelief. The answer to one of their longest-standing questions had just casually popped up on the screen as if it were no big deal. Although there was nothing much to go on with only the name.
Liam's gaze then drifted to the 'Class' tag. He couldn't hold back the laughter.
"So you're a System Fairy now?" he chuckled, finding the title both fitting and amusing.
Aurora, not missing a beat, looked at him and nodded, her expression one of proud acceptance.
"Yes, I am a System Fairy," she declared, her tone dignified yet playful.
The laughter subsided, and Liam, curiosity piqued, leaned forward.
"So, any idea how this system was created?" he asked, his gaze fixed on Aurora.
She paused, a thoughtful expression crossing her features.
"I have a theory," she began slowly. "Maybe the system was created by your Oculus."
The suggestion hung in the air, surprising even Liam, who hadn't considered his magical eye in that context due to the whirlwind of events.
"Why do you think that?" Liam inquired, genuinely intrigued.
Aurora explained, "Your Oculus doesn't just see magical phenomena; it gains knowledge about them. Perhaps it can also cast magic. Since your magical knowledge was limited, you couldn't use this ability until now."
Liam absorbed her words, a light of realization dawning in his eyes.
"So, like when I saw Elina's mural and awakened a new ability, the system might have been created in a similar way?" he mused, piecing together the puzzle.
Aurora nodded. "Exactly. The Oculus likely had these capabilities from the start, but your lack of knowledge made them dormant. When the right moment came, it showed its abilities in a way you could understand," she elaborated. "That might also explain why the system resembles our favorite game."
"This is big, Liam," Aurora started, the weight of their discovery evident in her voice. "If this theory is correct, your Oculus might be far more powerful than we ever imagined." Liam nodded, a mix of awe and anticipation in his eyes.
"There's more," Aurora added, diving into the inventory and producing two cards. The first was golden, adorned with the image of a tree. Liam recognized it instantly as the skill tree upgrade card his avatar had earned in the dungeon. But the second card was unfamiliar, though its appearance sparked a vague recognition. It depicted an image of a monster similar to the ones he fought in the dungeon.
[Type: Skill
Name: Jump
Description: Increase the user's jumping ability].
"Is that what I think it is?" Liam asked, his voice rising with excitement.
Aurora nodded, her smile wide.
"Yes, it's a skill card. Like in the game, you can use it to learn new abilities." She explained how it dropped from one of the monsters their avatars defeated, though the drop rate seemed abysmally low.
They exchanged a look, a silent understanding passing between them. Without a word, they rose from the couch, their eyes alight with the thrill of discovery. The prospect of testing out the skill card right away was too tempting to resist.
