after a cup of hot broth most of the disorientation from the magical gate teleportation has faded to a dull headache for Corllion. he sat speaking with Teish, about where they were and he further explained how he can sense magic, he also recounted the boost of all his senses while welding his sword OathKeeper. Teish was able to shed some light on the subject, that this boon that BladeSinger are able to gain is common but the amount of detail he's able to see, the mana regeneration verses the output cost for spells, were all way off he should not be boosted to those levels like he is describing without other spells and enchantments layered upon him. and there was no misunderstanding, Corllion was very good at describing things. it seemed like he was speaking a different language altogether and no one knew what he was trying to say, until he was able to speak to other BladeSinger's. after that it was like a fog had been lifted and he could precisely describe anything, and they knew what he was talking about or at least knew he was on the right path to finding his own answers. and where able to give valued incite to the subject and give him direction to where it could be found or at least someone with more answers than them. it was refreshing to not get those old standard answers.
Kyra entered the chamber and took up a seat without interrupting Corllion, and waited for a natural pause in the conversation to speak up. we leave in two hours, for the gate's deeper in the labyrinth, while they took their rest, Kyra had sent a report to the guild of her fear that Gorham had been recognized, and someone unknown to them was trying to learn more about young Silversword. The GuildMaster listened intently to her report, and instructed her to change their travel plans, and use a gate to go as close to the crimson isles as possible. they could always just use teleportation magic but Corllion needs to learn these things at some point and since is he so far ahead of where any other new brother of the guild would be in skills both martial and arcane why not use this as an opportunity to fill in some gaps in his knowledge he would use for the rest of his life.
at the same time Saltor was giving his report to the shadow master of the guild. he had learned of Corllions ability to sense when he's being watched and he would eventually figure out if he hasn't already who the other person keeping tabs on him, so they never spoke his name after that second report, just so he wouldn't catch on to soon. shortly after Kyra had joined the others Saltor finished up and packed away his thing's. as he went to the common room, Gorham was standing to the right of the doorway, Corllion was sitting with his back to the door talking with Kyra, without waiting Corllion spun around and asked him directly without malice of any kind, why do you keep trying to spy on me and for whom are you report this to brother Saltor? upon hearing this Gorham stepped away from the doorway and stepped directly behind him, and said yes please do tell us all, with more than just a little contempt in his voice.
Saltor stiffened, how does such a big elf in full plate move so silently, he wondered to himself. do not question me about my motives Paladin, I have orders to report to my master just as the first blade and Teish have been. Kyra shifted to look at him squarely, and spoke with venom dripping, we have been assessing Corllion for the guild so we can best place him according to his level for instruction, since he is so gifted, the GuildMaster wants updates daily so we can constantly adjust his training to fit him best.
so, he so much better than anyone else that had to follow every step of every order until we earned the right to say, or do as we wish until given a tasking for the guild? Saltor asked as much as he stated. that is not for you to decide or comment on, for to do so questions the elder's of all our order's and the GuildMaster himself. Matter of fact let's see would you like to test him yourself? to see just how accomplished he is with that sword? No that is not my place or way. But you do bring up another point of question I personally have, that blade! why the GuildMaster has continued to allow him to carry the damn thing, it's a slap in the face every time he draws that damned thing. Saltor shot back with as much venom as he could summon. before Kyra could respond, Corllion answered for himself, you know that was asked of me just before I took my vows, and I'll tell you the same thing I told all the elders, and I'll add the one thing they just found out when I bonded with OathKeeper the other night. I have dreamt about this sword since the day I picked up the first sword I was able to lift and make a halfhearted swing with it. my resolve further deepened when I found out that the founder of our guild created this design and swore to them, the gods and myself including OathKeeper before I could hear her, that I would bring honor back to this blade design end our fallen brother and close that chapter in our history books. as the last word left Corllion's mouth he reacted on pure instinct, he rose up and in the same fluid motion drew OathKeeper and stabbed her into the wall right past Saltor's left ear. thinking Corllion had just tried to attack him, he leapt to the right and drew his short sword and prepared for a fight he honestly didn't think he could win heads up, even with his centuries of experience he had over Corllion.
