A chink in the armor

As the group of BladeSingers, passed through the door to the Crimson Isles, again Corllion Silversword, was hit with another wave of disorientation. again, he found the hand of Teish the groups beacon, ready to steady him once on the other side. Kyra the first blade of the guild and leader of the group noticed this and walked over.

Teish looked to her and gave a look of concern, usually the second time through one of the guilds magical gates was a lot easier on the newer recruits in the guild, by the third time it was gone altogether. what Kyra was seeing was the exact opposite, it looked to be affecting worse.

she made a mental note to ask her uncle, the GuildMaster Avostad if he had ever encountered this with anyone before since the day the gates where placed and activated, when she made her report tonight. she also had an urge to take a few moments and send the report now.

Kyra had always been a strong and determined elf, and as she grew and became a member of the BladeSingers guild herself. her driving force was to right a wrong from the guild's history, sadly one she would never be allowed to complete. so, she took solace in the fact she would personally train the one that would eventually right that wrong and end the fallen brother titan now known as Gorath, the most dangerous and powerful vampire known to the guild.

unlike most gates that showed an archway this gate was cleverly hidden as a pair of palm trees that crossed at their top. Kyra sat down next to one of the tree's if she could find out what is plaguing young Silversword's travel through the gate the sooner the better, she didn't like seeing him laid low like this. since the use of the gate's primary purpose, was to move troops to far off battle fields quickly and be able to fight seconds after porting there, he was now a weak spot in her group. this she disliked greatly. so now one of her top priorities is figure this out to get him back in the fight quickly if needs be.

GuildMaster Avostad, sat back thinking on every known occurrence of what is call gate sickness. a condition not unlike an allergy. but this is the worst case he had ever encountered. and as much as their guild uses the gates to move around the great distances wherever they might be needed. way gates allow the user to go somewhere they have never been before, normal teleportation is restricted to line of sight, meaning you have to see where you want to go, or somewhere you have been before. in all the cases of gate sickness know the person usually builds up an immunity very quickly by their third or fourth jump they are completely fine. but as Kyra described, young Corllion is getting worse after the first gate he need an hour to recovery, and after the second gate it appears he will need a full day's rest.

Avostad already had an idea forming, and by all reports of young Corllion arcane abilities, learning the spells need would be no problem. Kyra this is what must be done, have Teish teach Young Corllion how to teleport by both methods, we will have a beacon here create Karori beads. this way no matter the distance he can focus on where it is and teleport to the bead. once he has been to that spot he can go back and forth without using the gates.

I will have beads to you within a day, stay close to the gate for now before continuing on further. so, when you next have to use a gate, everyone but young Corllion goes through once you arrive on the other side he can jump to you. you will have a bead for each of your team. take a few days to make sure he can use the spells and beads before continuing your tasking. this is a slight set back, but the boy is young, and we don't have that many gates when you return, he can spend some time collecting jump points, so he won't have to use the gats anymore.

but why have the gates at all if we can just do things that way? asked Kyra. the beads are terribly hard to create and cost a fortune for each one. plus, not all members are good are teleportation magic, said Avostad.

with that the aging GuildMaster ended the conversation and went to put thing in motion. Kyra packed up the small bowl and went to inform the group of the plans for the next few days. when she arrived at Corllions tent everyone, but Saltor was there keeping an eye on Corllion. Teish was starting a potion to ease Corllions sickness. well Master Avostad has a work around for Corllion's gate sickness. she laid out the plan and set everyone to work. when she noticed Saltor wasn't there she asked if anyone had seen him. Corllion opened his eyes and still looking at the roof of the tent, he began to say something but was overcome with a fit of Coffing. when this subsided, he started over only coughing once, he is in the forest sending I assume the same report to whoever he's reporting to back in the guild. they have tried to use codes instead of my name, but i still can feel the connection to me, even if they haven't said my name.
