Not as Obedient as a Dog

Damien Sterling shook his head in resignation, not out of annoyance.

Behind him, the butler had already presented the imported dog food to Damien.

"Here, feed it this. Let me know as soon as it's finished, and I'll have more flown in for it."

Emma Hart took the dog food from Damien's hands, puzzled, "Needs to be flown in? This one bag..."

She wondered about the price of just one bag of dog food—could it be a hundred? Two hundred dollars? Or at the very most, five hundred?

"It's three thousand a bag, enough for one week," Damien stated matter-of-factly.

Emma nearly choked on her saliva in shock. "What... what did you say?"

"You heard me right," Damien replied calmly, unfazed by her reaction.

The price was staggering enough to astonish and surprise Emma Hart.
